Silvercan Speed record

RE: Silvercan Speed record
Does your receiver have a BEC? If not, that battery will most likely fry your servo. 8.4 `volts is a lot for the servo to handle (meant to be used at 4.8-6v).

Isn't the Mabuchi a higher torque silvercan?
I received one of those with my semi & tlt-1.

From my understanding they're pretty much the same.

RE: Silvercan Speed record
Found this on the web bit of info
Mabuchi make (and made) many, many different versions of the 540 motor. Unfortunately since it is actually an industrial fractional hp dc motor, they are primarily classified by their output and consumption rather than the winds, which RC racers are more familiar with.
The coding schema used by Mabuchi is quite simple, and there are basically 3 types of motor that look very similar externally, and only their code number can identify them:
The RS-540SH series is the one typically used in RC car kits and this comes in 3 versions, the 5045, 8023 and the 6527. Where the first 2 digits describe the wire diameter: 50 = .50mm etc and the last 2 digits the number or turns: 27 = 27T etc

RE: Silvercan Speed record
Nice find there Tiger...
I have heard that there were some 23 or even 22T silvercans around.
This would explain why the HBX Lancers are quicker then their Buggy rivals..
The onroad cars are supposed to get a 25.000rpm motor and the Buggy's with an 18.000rpm motor
(I think they called the Motor an RS540 22K)
Also Found this!

Dear sir, Thank you for your email. TD056729 is our production lot number. This number is including the meaning of production place (which factory)and production date. From this number, we can trace the motor model is our "RS540SH-6527",We attache the performance data sheet for this model. We hope that this data can help you. Sincerely, Y.YoshibaMABUCHI MOTOR CO., LTD. (See attached file: RS-540SH-6527.pdf)

But today's 540 6527 has this data (according to performance chart simulation from website) at 7.2v:

i dont understand why they use silvercans for racing any way, just use a GT tuned motor, Super St6ock RZ or something with at least some noticeable power as i hate it when u put fullm pedal and you can still turn without crashing or spinning, it just sucks the skills off drivers.

And F1 style racing silvercan is best. Anything more is super hard to control, and at my local track everyone using hotter motors have slower laptimes because it's a handful.

RE: Silvercan Speed record
well i have but i wasn't very impressed with the speed, theres know exciment if it isn't possible to spin out or damage your car in the middle of a race or speed run. ive used a ezrun 9t and i can turn at 3 quarter speed, slow down to half throttle than power out at full blast without spinning but it takes lots of practice and i hasve lots of mistakes getting used to the track but once u know the line it easier
