Default lipo and BL for actual racing?

Hi sorry for always asking so many questions here (just still learning a lot and this place is a great help),

I'm just wondering what is the best brushless and lipo set-up to use for actual track racing in my TA05IFS (getting upgrades for chassis soon). not in terms of brands but just plain how many turns to go for and what size battery?...

Is a 3.5T 10,000kv way too fast for the race track if i want to do some actual racing (is this motor more suited for just crazy speed runs on open roads)? What would suit best for the race track 3.5T, 7.5T, 10.5T or even something like a 13.5T or a 18.5T be best for racing?

Also with regards to the lipos is the more "MAH" always better for racing and playing (e.g- 5000 better than 4000) is is sometimes a shorter life pack better for racing? I was looking at 20C 5000mah 7.4v 2-Cell is this a good selection or is a lower mah have any benefit? Would a 3 cell lipo with 20C 5400mah 11.1v LiPO be allowed for racing in 1/10 classes or am i better to just stick with 2 cell 7.4 volt (would a 3 cell even fit in my car)? I need it to be race legal as i want to enter some races in the future

thanks loads again!

The first thing I suggest you do is find out where you're going to race and ask them what's legal. Are you racing in stock? modified? No place I know of allows 3S regardless of class.

when touring car racing I wouldn't even worry about the packs mah
i finished a 6 minute 13.5 race with a 3600 lipo and I still had ~1000mah left in it
i now use a smc 5000 mah pack

3 cell lipo are not permitted on sanctioned racing, 2cell 5000 is the max, harddcase only.

Thanks for the info on the 3S... I'm not near any tracks at the moment so i can't go down and find out what motor classes are legal as I move around a lot and have no home track.

Any general feeling on whether 3.5T, 7.5T or 10.5T would be best for racing in say open class (or mod)?

Thansk

You definately want a 2s 7.4v pack, and the mah matters for run time and the voltage matters for speed. So if you are running qualifyers and a main you might want a 5000 to 6000 mah pack so you don't have to buy multiple packs to charge and rotate in and out.

Thanks,,, any reason why you run 5 cell instead of 6? Is it just to save weight? also could i just buy a 3.5T and not have it running at max capacity through my ESC to "down-tune" it to be more drive-able?

five cell because It will help to balance the car and reduces the power of the 6.5-2.5 motors
