got the limited edition white springs...

they look loads better than the stock yellow springs..

pinion choices... going for 21T for maximum tyre shreddage!!

heat sink attached, hard to get the correct mesh due to a tiny window.. the heatsink actually makes contact with the motor, which is better than just through the screws (M-04 style) [&:]

them springs look quality, i have a set on my TA-05

Darn it I really like the Golf Body. Oh well might as well send it over to me

Hah just kidding, but what will the golf body go on?

well the Golf GTI body did fit once i lengthened the chassis, but... the rear body posts had to be changed for straight ones, and then weren't nearly long enough.. see here!! and this is without the extra weight of a battery, which would ground it even more..

so its the VR6 (original) body which is going to see action! the Clio is an FF-01 and also on a short body, but i'm not sure if its shorter still, than the VR6?? [&:]

the GTI body has gone up in the loft with all the NIB's.

Lee, would you consider painting the GTI body? I really wanted to see what one looks like. I understand if not, maybe somewhere down the road.

sure, its a bit more complicated than the 'M-Chassis way'...

if i can find long enough rear body posts then i'll build her up straight away.

body painted...

some decals applied...

normally i paint the mirrors/wing even if they are the same colour as the body, as the shine/glossyness isnt correct, but these mirrors are near perfect colour/gloss wise

battery tray fitted, slightly adapted the instructions in favour of my titanium screws, should have used 12mm C/S but used 10mm C/S instead, as Tamiya aren't that generous when it comes to their titanium screw sizes, i think 12mm was overkill anyway, it was really hard to turn them without rounding near the end of their thread.

Hey Lee, we have similar interests in cars. This one is still a work in progress for me. I'd like to put the new shocks on it just to make it a little more current. Everything on it is from Tamiya and I think I'll keep this one that way. I like the idea of putting a brushless system in this car. That would be a blast with a lipo. Let me know how yours does, I'm really curous.

I put some pics of mine below. Talk to you later!
Brian

Vyger, awesome ride, i actually prefer them TA-03 TRF shocks, plus the blue screws are a nice discreet touch.

Tamiya give you the option of left ot right hand drive... right of course!

body is finished...

fitted a few hop ups to the VR6 today, titanium turnbuckles, aluminium kingpins and aluminium servo stays (meant for TA-03).

also tried to fit the servo and the longer motor/ESC wires

steel vs aluminium, quite a lot of different for saying its only a tiny part..

steel vs titanium, again, more weight saving bling...

i did mean to fit the servo today, but as i couldnt manage to solder the longer wires onto the ESC, i had no circuit to power my servo (to centre it) and to frustrate me further, i couldnt find the damn crystal for the RX.. suffice to say, when i gave up and worked on my M-04L, i found the crystal and another RX with a crystal already in it... my new soldering iron made light work of the Novak solder! bargain!

servo, with aluminium stays...

this car is seriously spoilt.. as if the CF chassis, TRF dampers, titanium screws, titanium turnbuckles, aluminium motor mount and aluminium kingpins weren't enough.. its now got aluminium ball connectors as well! although 10 wasnt enough to do the whole car... time to order more! [&:]

You have a choice of where to mount the battery compartment I see? Forward or backwards?

Also, what do you mean left or right hand drive??

yes, battery can be turned the opposite way.

in the UK we have right hand drive cars, where as in France and most of Europe, the driver sits on the left hand side, so Tamiya included two sets of wipers, so you can choose if you want a UK or Euro Golf..

It was confusing when you said left/right hand drive in RC car terms

Are you going to run this?
I am thinking of buying an FF01 as a basher, and using the Beams Integra Tamiya Shell (DC5R)
