I just got the Flux last weekend and I am loving it! I am seeing if anyone has pictures on what they did to cut the back plate so rocks do not get lodged between the belt and they pulleys.

thanks,

Hey i might be getting one of these puppies to complement my e10 and i was wondering if there are any "must have" upgrades, if i do that diff mod thing will i need anything else? For example the e10 needed (almost by law) a full set of bearings.

I read something about som egears stripping near the rear belt, would it be a good idea to drop in those HPI aluminium belt gears? as for the spur gears stripping is there anything you can do about that which is cost efficient? I´ll prolly toss in a 9 turn EZrun system for power while using either 5100 mAh team orion rocketpacks or possibly upgrading to lipo´s in the future...

Ooh and one last question, i see conflicting reports on the wheel base, some sites list it as 190mm while others list it as 200... Also the HPI site lists it´s "deep dish" rims as an advantage are those offset wheels to get it to 200 from 190 or something??? (my e10 is 190 so not having to keep 2 body sizes on hand would be awesome...)

i just picked up a sprint 2 flux yesterday, it is my first on-road car.
so far it is nice it handles waaaay different than my 2 traxxas slashes(obviously) and it is stupid fast.
but i got a 6 cell 5000nimh pack for it andit didnt even run 20 minutes!!!!! i run 7 cell 4200packs in my brushless slash and i get almost doublethat time on it!
could itbe because the pack is brand new and only got charged 1 time? or should i just forget it andmodthe batterybox to fit my 7 cells!!
also i noticed that it gets really hot since it is so low to the ground, the air cant get up underneith it to cool the motor. im considering cutting out the front grille to help get some air in there

and 1 last question, does anyone know what offsets the wheels are on the flux with the new mustang gtr body?

cool thanks guys, also last night after running it a bit and seeing how hot it gets, i cut out the front grille to help flow some air through the chassis.

I had read somewhere that the mounting posts were adjustable so that you could use either 190mm or 200mm bodies. Has anybody else heard that?

What mounting post? where the body sits on? you dont need em. You can just place a 190-200mm body on these cars. I have a 190 on my RS4-3 with no problems and swap with sons Sprint Flux.

Recently got this Sport 2 off ebay. Came with graphite upper deck, graphite front and rear suspension towers, sway bars and 2 speed transmission and stiff springs. Handles like it's on rails and I put a Speed Gems 15 in it and it flies pretty well. Here is a pic with my new mini cam mounted on the roof. I need to make some on-road vids to post soon. As soon as the BMX track dries up I will mount it in my Slash and make some hardcore bashing videos.

BTW, anyone put 9mm offset wheels on theirs??? I got a sweet 1980 Camaro body from Mcallister racing that is 9" wide and I was wondering how close the track would be to the body width with 9mm wheels on it.

Ok, so you can then use either 190 or 200 bodies on it. Not for the reason I said but you still can. Soooo, it sounds like you can usually use either size on a 1:10 you just might use different offsets to make it "look" right? Correct?

You are correct sir. Just use off-set wheels.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads-up. I had a Sprint 2 Sport that I was using some lipos in and being that I sold the Sprint I have no use for the lipos. I have them listed here if you want to check them out. One is a 4000mah and the other is 5000mah, both 7.4v 15C. Only asking $45 shipped and will even come with a small lipo charger for those of you that dont already have lipos. It'll be a cheap and easy way to get into it. Run times are about 20 minutes with the 4000mah and 25 with the 5000mah. Thats a lot of running on only two batteries. As for the two-speed question, I've seen that post before in here, back when I had mine, and I think they were saying it wasn't possible because of the chassis lay out. I think your only option to have electric two-speed, you'd have to convert a Hpi RS4 nitro.

if you're not going to use it for drifting just make sure you get a normal set of tires.

Sry fire I diddent get back to ya in time.

@Willy- I am going to give drifting a try but chances are I am going to set it up for club racing. Its just that only the drifters come as rollers. I would be a wast to get the rtr just to rip everything out just as soon as I open the box. Ya know
