I made a tensioner for the rear belt ans seems to help alot compared to before it was jumping constantly even after adjusting. It does not jump anymore and with the more powerfull 5900kv 4 pole motor the belt is holding up well after 20 runs using a 5000mah belt and 35-40 mins of hard running on carpet!

I used a front tensioner turned upsidedown, replaced bushings with bearings and put a flush mounted screw to hold the bearing mount into place because of motor plate clearance!

Too bad this was not made of aluminum with a slot on the holder to move the bearing up and down as needed??

Anyone else try this??

I wonder if aluminum 15t pulleys would help slow down belt wear as plastic seems to round off fast?

Well, I got my first Sprint 2 this week in a trade and I should have another early next week.. I was able to trade both mine and my son's Mini Revos' for each of the Sprint's.
One comes with the Flux brushless setup and the other one comes with a Novak brushless setup.

Here are pics of the Flux one.

And here are a couple of the back and fins...

That's the first good looking RC '57 Chevy body ThunderbirdJunkie has seen. Is that a Pegasus body?

I am not sure, it came with the car.

Do you guys know which wheels I need to get to run the 200mm bodies on my Sprint?

I like that Exotek chassis set. One of my Sprint's has the HPI carbon fiber. I am going to get the Exotek for my other Sprint.

i was under the impression that it could only handle 2s lipo's... what lipo do you have? my 2s barely fits, and my 3s is a lot larger. I would love to rip on this with a 3s!!

Look on the previous page and you'll see how you can fit 3s lipo.

It's much better than having the stock setup

Try making a rear tensioner like I did? Very easy just order another front tensioner and use 2 bearings on the pulley instead of bushing

I got about 35 very hard runs (of about 45 mins each on a 5000mah) out of the rear belt before I had a runaway and hit the wall pinning full throttle and tearing the teeth off the belt and upper pulley . My 2.4 hpi radio came unbound or something, still trying to figure it out?

The belt did stretch somewhat but remained in good condition until the WOT hitting the wall.

Quick update on one of my posts on page 50 regarding the motor being not centered on the chassis.

Last night I met someone that actually was following my post and trying the mods, I mentioned to him not to do it, the Middle Lay shaft kept braking.

Motor - Not an easy fix, but why hasn't HPI seen this and corrected it. If you take a look at the stock position of the Motor, looking at it from the front to the car the motor sits a few mm to the right.
Get three 4mm nuts, we all have them in our tool box and install them on the motor plate (see photo below), where you're going to have problems in with the Middle Lay Shaft you need to drill a hole to compensate for the 4mm shift (I ruined the original one, had to get another, got it the 2nd time). After this is done your motor will sit right in the middle of the chassis and not to the right.
This mod on paper was a great idea, unfortunately in the real world did not work out that well, due to having to drill another hole through the Middle Lay Shaft it actually weakness the shaft on the area of the original and the extra hole made, I have broken to shafts on that spot, went back to the stock setting,

Here is the pic I'm referring to.

That looks like the castle creations Neu-Castle 1406 series brushless motor with the Sidewinder ESC can't tell if its the original or V2

Noting wrong with that system, I have the same one with 5700 motor, more than enough power, what I really don't know is how much power difference is there from a 3900 to 5700 motor.

ya that seems to be my main concern . power... the guy at the hobby shop reccomented it.. saying that all the ppl with big motors are tuening down to smaller motors so they can actually dive the car.. or should i get just somthing 5700 kv..
seccond question is about the heat .. im new to RC , wondering what gearing i need or if this would be a proper match for the car .

im just to new yett to have enough of my own judgement.. in time in time.. =)
thx

The guy on at the hobby shop is right, I have mine tuned down to 5000kv, and its still plenty of power.
I've never had any problem with heat, the hottest mine has ever gotten was 167F, that's racing with various types of gearing...
The heat issue is something only the driver/owner of the car has to figure out based on what you will actually be doing.
