Have you guys seen the new traxxas x? 100mph out the box. What going on with HPI? What haven't they stepped up their game? I'm a big fan of hpi. I have a an RS4-3, savage x and a Sprint 2 flux and none will get near what that Traxxas can do.

I think HPI has let go of their only onroad nitro car and that was the R40. HPI needs better onroad nittro and offroad cars and trucks.

What is your opinion on this?
LMAO...... I would rather own an HPI than a Traxxas any day. Why do you think ''HPI needs better onroad nittro and offroad cars and trucks''?
HPI has Traxxas beat at almost every scale IMO. Also the R40 isn't HPI's only nitro onroad car.
I dont think so. I like both HPI and Traxxas, but i think Traxxas has the edge. They have more vehicles to choose from.

LOL.... only because they reuse the same chassis for different vehicles..
Well it works. HPI doesnt offer enough of a selection. No nitro short course truck, no 1/16 scale. HPI is either a RS4, a Savage or a Baja basically. I own both companies and like them both of their stuff differently.
Love what your sayin dragon!
and on the ''no 16th scale'' well HPI does have their new 18th scale Mini Recon, that I hear is nice for the price! 100 bucks
and with a $50 motor and esc hopup they run even better
I don't think many Nitro SC trucks have sold... more elctric fans I think
and HPI did come out with their new 8th scale brushless SC and C1 that kinda sweet
Hey srt10, HPI are also the ones who started the whole MINI craze with their Micro RS4.

Here is what i did for the front belt tensioner to get more clearance for your large battery
i mounted it under the belt on the lower part of the chassi. between the esc and the stearing servo
i also dremeled a bit of the top chassi for more belt clearance .
just used a knuckle and the stalk hpi roller from the stalk tensioner.

on the rear
i dremeled above the rear belt for more rock clearance and some good ole duck tape under the motor

Ok, had my car running right but then it stopped running. I thought it was my battery and re charged it. Played with it again and no response to the throttle or reverse, steering does work. just by swaping parts to test as far as i know.. was the esc or motor hott?? i would say its more common for the esc to die out. than a motor.. if the shaft on the motor still spins its fine.. its a esc problem as far as i can tell

might want to post up a pic or numbers of your esc and motor..

Ok, I think I have figured the problem. Km now charging my non LiPo batteries. I conected the LiPo battery to an electric motor, it spun real slow and git slower. When I connect the LiPo to its charger an alarm will go off. I thought cus it was fully charged. It's cus its in the wrong setting. But it is on the right setting so something is wrong with the LiPo or charger. Did I do something wrong to the battery?
