With simple external adjustments you can tune the diff to your handling needs to get more or less grip at either end of your car.

Inside the ball diff is a small flat head screw that you tighten/loosen up as you see fit. I tighten it and add super glue to make sure it's not going anywhere. I also found that using the adjustable ball diff with stock dog bones will not work. You will need to add a small piece of fuel tubing inside the diff openings or else the dog bone will slide too far into the diff and out of the hub.

For the Sprint 2 there are no diff locks.
There are none specifically made for the Sprint, but I use HPI diff locks that are made for the Wheely King.

These are alot better than using glue or clay. They are easy to install and work well.

The front belt rubs on my Lipos hard cases, and the rear belt rubs on the motor. I contacted HPI about this and they said its fine. I've run mine 4 or 5 times and the front belt has notched a small groove in the lipo's hard case. No other issues yet tho...

Yeah that's nothing to worry about. I've had my Sprint 2 for about 8 months now with no issues. Before that I had a normal Sprint and that I had for about 2 years, never an problem with the lipo's rubbing on the belt.

No modding at all. Just open your diff, remove the gears and put this in.

DR, not that I've noticed. I think the throw is pretty good anymore will be overkill. LOL My rear belt rubs on the motor and my front belt only rubs when I run my hard case lipos.

* 6-7 Cell NiMH/ NiCd or 2 Cell Lithium Polymer.
* 70A* Continuous / 380A burst current.
That was pulled from HPI's website under the Sport Flux info. I have a friend with a HPI Flux but he doesn't run more than 7.4v lipo's on it. I bought a Castle SideWinder for mine and I'm able to run 11.1v but we drift so 11.1v is OVERKILL. I wonder if you geared down, if the Flux could handle 11.1v?

You never want your 2S lipos to go lower than 3.2v per cell so a 6.7v cutoff is just fine. When you say that the lipos not charging past 3.67v is that combined? If so then it sound like you have a bad wire somewhere on the lipo because one of the cell's is not reading. This has happened to me before. One of the wires on the charging/balancing plug broke off. You'll have to take the lipo apart and re-solider the connection. A fully charged lipo will read 8.2-8.4v.

I have a Sprint 2 with a 5700kv mamba max pro setup. I currently am running a 93 tooth spur and a 16 tooth pinion but the car seems slow. What size pinion would you guys recommend?

When you have a new ESC you have to recalibrate it. Look in the instruction manual it'll walk you through it.

Default RE: OFFICIAL HPI Sprint 2 Thread (Sport and Flux)

I just purchased my HPISprint 2 Flux today, sold my brushless e-maxx as I have more concrete than off-road area to run around my house.

I got it from my LHS for $320.00, plus I purchased two Venom 30c 5000mah LiPo's (VEN-15080) hardcases, so I can have two on hand for more run time.

now I'm shopping on towerhobbies and have compiled a checkout list of:

HPIFront one-way diff 32t
HPIUniversal dogbones all around
DuraTrax Bearings (2x 5x8mm) for the back pulley to replace the bushings.
RPMHeavy Duty Rod-ends (3.5mm?) to try to rid of some steering slop
HPIRacing Diff-locker spool for the rear-end instead of wasting $20.00 on ball diff? or should I go for the ball diff just for simple neighborhood bashin'?
replacement belts....

are aluminum pulleys worth it? if so I'm not sure which ones to get....

anything else that I'd need, or would be useful before I checkout?

I'm guessing someone already posted the answer to my question. But, I'll ask it anyway. Does someone have a good VTA setup? Thanks.

The aftermarket body will fit just fine. Like any aftermarket body, you just have to drill the holes for mounting it.

Hey guys, new to the Sprint and was trying to decide which brushless motor to get and what gearing to use. My goal is 40-50mph. Nothing crazy. The two motors I was looking at were 3900kv and 4400kv. Since only 3300mah 3s batteries will fit in the stock chassis, I'd like to get these numbers on 2s. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
