Sorry, but I also beg to differ on your post also...You can use carbon fiber with a 3s Lipo on the sprint flux 2 if you wanted and it would still fit fine~

Not only is it much stiffer but it changes the car a WHOLE lot depeding on your setup...If you carbon fiber the whole car you can drop a couple pounds in weight which will ultimately make your car faster, and force you to adjust your shocks for control~

Well in this case it will seem a lot faster because your top end is higher but your acceleration is noticeably quicker than the other ratio. If you run a 3s Lipo to this motor, with this ratio it will be excellent. You would not be able to run 87/32 without burning the motor up...a better ratio for this setup would be 87/28 on 3s...Or a higher KVmotor on 2s~ The way you are setup you a drawing too much acceleration with no top speed, which should make this hard to control?!?!

Hi All,

Im a newbie to this forum so thought I would say 'Hi' here.

Ive had my Sprint 2 Stage D for about 4 years, used mainly for drifting.
I have recently got back into RC cars and bought a HPI Cup Racer that I intended to use as my regular on road, but due to a few weak points on an otherwise great little car, Ive gone back to the Sprint 2.

Current set up is:

Exrun 8.5t V2 Combo
Much More 40c Wheels and Tyres
87 Spur 26 Pinion
Standard Shocks
Spool front.

Thats about it.The steering slop is an issue that I need to address over this weekend, but apart from that its great fun.
I only use it on a smooth asphalt outdoor track and apart from a bit of oversteer, it handles pretty well.
Keeps up with my friends TA-05 with the same motor, he has carbon chassis and TRF shocks too.

Cheers,
Steve.

were talking pounds from switching over to CF top and bottom decks??

Zanga, notce how i am infact using the CF setup location with my stick pack..im using the antenna post, but U could use any post that a screw can thread through, and run it along the slot in the top deck for adjustable support of the battery. its barely a modification.

Yes the whole sprint flux 2 CF is about a little more than 2 pounds lighter then stock...This can drastically change how you tune the car.

What kind of motor is that?? you could probly drill the mounting holes on the battery claws farther out on the swing arm to make them wide enough to close. its hard to see but it look slike you have the right one farthest to the inside, and the lefft one mounted towards the outside.

Any reason why the gears are on the opposite side?

LOL...I have no idea I guess its the way my laptop took the picture, I guess it mirrors the photo. They indeed are in the correct formation, not sure why picture appears that way~

It closes fine I just didn't have it closed as I wanted to show how the 3s easily fits. The motor is a Velineon 3500~

I see that the flux comes with a deans plug as its connector. I was wondering will it affect anything if I switch it to a traxxas plug?

Depends on if you are a hardcore racer or notm besides that no just make sure the connectors are cleanly installed right.

Traxxas, Deans, Power Poles, Bullets, EC3, it don't matter. All these are high current connectors and are much better than Tamiyas and would be perfectly suited for any 1/10 brushless system.

People who race on tracks a lot in pro or semi-pro circuits, might want to make sure their connection is real clean to increase efficiency. So cutting the connectors off and soldering on new ones should be done extremely well if you are one of those type of people.

I understood the first half of that post. But the second sentence didn't really make sense to me[sm=confused.gif]

basically soldering the wires directly to the motor and has less resistance it doesnt improve performance just efficiency and theres less heat.

less wasted power, but the difference between a high current connector and a hardwired setup would be very negligible, even in a hot setup. Definitely worth it to hardwire if you're a serious racer where every millisecond counts, but for the normal joe it's not.

are you turning your radio on before the car every time? Sounds like sometimes the ESC isn't getting set up right when you go to run it. If that's not the case, I really doubt it's the motor. Possibly a defective esc or you're getting bad interference with your radio?
