Where can you get the best deal for batteries to this car?
Need both NiMh and Lipo batteries.

This is what I'm running now. Bought on ebay for $39.00 Shipped http://cgi.ebay.com/2x-EC-POWER-4000...713.m153.l1262

I've been running these for about 2 weeks now and each pack has about 8 cycles. Still holding strong and have had no issues. Also bought one of there 5000mah 7.4v Lipos. They are a bit wider than the 4000's but works great. The Zippy packs are also awsome but your not going to find two for a price like that. Shipping is a bit long, took me 16 days to get my package but was well worth the wait. IMO, nihm's just aren't worth it anymore. Lighter packs and longer run times. Just simply having the same voltage from start to finish is amazing.

Zippy has a hard case lipo in a red case 4000mAh 2cell 25C I think, and it's like $28........... my LHS has started ordering us airplane guys stuff from HC, so next order I will add a battery and a couple other electronic stuffs
I have been running a 2200 20C zippy on it's own, not paired up with another to make a 4400. and it' has about 2/3 power left and isn't even warm by the time I break the truck LOL I have pushed them hard in airplanes and they seem to be holding up well. and for 25$ ea.
I will let you know how the hard case batt turns out..

Any ideas on how to keep belt from running on battery, or does it matter?

I ended up tightening the belt, and put two washers between the battery cage (4 posts) and the chassis - it seemed to work.
