name this oval car tamiya / trc / kyosho / associated ??
I have picked up an older pan/oval car in a deal. I desperately wanted the other car a guy was selling and had to buy them both.
I do not know what this care is , its age or what its worth. Looking at the radio it makes me think it is older but it has some carbon and alloy parts too.
any advice or help would be great. I would like to know its approx worth too as I am not sure what I have here.
please help, all advice heeded.
thanks
jp

the body reminds me of the Tamiya daytona thunder..
though i'm sure its not a Tamiya, so exclude that from your list.

Looks like my old RC10L pan chassis from 16 years ago.. great chassis for oval/cement tracks.. not sure how it would work on the current carpet tracks.

I don't think its an Associated design.... It's close but not like anything they have done. It might be one of Trinity's old pan cars, or maybe even a Bolink.

True I forgot about bolink.. had one of those pan chassis too.. the 10L didn't really have the "wings" by the back tires but the bolink and some after market chassis to convert some off road Tamiya cars did also.

Do you think it might be one of those old delta's? Because the more i think about it, the Bolink's used saddle packs and had even weight distribution.

It looks like an associated 10L with an aftermarket chassis. Maybe JR Designs...or something like it.

nice catch!!
Under the body post on the left hand side it says R0L !! on the right it says team assO the missing letters are where the body posts are drilled through. They are stickers though
on the front right of the chassis is TRC sticker and ont he very front there is a body by bolink sticker (under the foam)
So would it sound like an RC10L with some sort of composite oval chassis as it has the battery ribs only on one side? It is exciting to me when I find stuff I dont know what it is is has a TEAM STOCK FANTOM motor in it, cant see how many turns. Might have to run it this weekend

I used to have one of the graphite chassis RC10L's. Those little wings just in front of the rear tires are the nerf bars they came with stock. They keep someone from smacking the wheel directly and snapping off an expensive graphite axle.
The chassis and front suspension are most likely stock AE parts for a "newer" RC10LSS (LTO version). That front end is the AE Dynamic Strut setup that has been dyed. Dying them makes the outer surface of the plastic harder, kinda like case hardening steel, or anodizing aluminum. The servo mount is also part of the Dynamic Strut car. Reduced bump steer if I remember right.
The rear pod top and bottom plates and probably the right plate (motor mount) are definitely aftermarket. The left plate looks like stock AE parts. I can't remember if the rear post stabilizer was stock on the Dynamic Strut car or not, but I think its AE parts, not aftermarket.
All in all, that's one well prepped ol' pan car. Stick a MONDO brushless setup in it and take it to a Velodrome and do some serious oval speed runs. Those will run 50-60 mph easy on a flat surface with a mild BL system.

It is most definately Associated 10L with an aftermarket chassis as all the Associated chassis were woven graphite like the rear pod pieces. Also the dynamic strut front end bolted into the same holes as the old style front end, so swaping it out is possible and very common.
