New Tamiya FF03 chassis
Has anyone seen this yet?
Finally a new front wheel drive chassis! And it's not just a stretched and widened M05, it looks to be completely new.
There appears to be two versions; a Pro kit, and a regular kit with Castrol honda civic body.

RE: New Tamiya FF03 chassis
I've had an FF01 just sitting around because I'm affraid I might break something on it, and with those parts being so hard to find it doesn't get any use.
So I'm happy to see the FF chassis re-born, I've been waiting for a good FWD chassis that wasn't an M size.

Wow Tamiya has been releasing some really cool stuff lately! Too bad they haven't done another front motor mounted 4WD car again like the TA03F though.

Since Tamiya has a knack for making some pretty scale bodies, I wonder if they'd ever make a body that has a front hood? Just imagine lifting the hood to see the electric motor sitting in the engine bay

The chassis is being shown at the Shizuoka Hobby Show in Mid-May, along with a list of optional hop-ups. Gotta go where the money is
Not sure about a release OS though.

RE: New Tamiya FF03 chassis
I do hope Tamiya will establish a class for this FF03 in the Tamiya Cup series! That would make them actually selling the cars to racers. Otherwise it would just be a car to play with...

RE: New Tamiya FF03 chassis
Well my FF03 finally showed up on my doorstep this past week. Haven't started building it yet just been a little too busy. But I'm planning on running a Tekin 17.5 system in it, and I'll be using a Tamiya Golf body until they release some more front wheel drive bodys.
Anybody else pick one up yet?

RE: New Tamiya FF03 chassis
Got a little work done on it tonight, pretty straight forward build just like most Tamiya cars. So far I like it a lot, I'm just swapping out the philips head screws for stainless hex head hardware as I go.
Here's a few pictures, they pretty much explain themselves, lol.

RE: New Tamiya FF03 chassis
I do have an FF01, but I bought it used and fixed it up with new parts. It got expensive because parts were so hard to find for it, so I just built it but never really ran it. So I'm not sure if your looking for a performance comparison or just a general comparison, because I've never technically driven my FF01, lol.
