Default Is Corrosion X Okay to Use on Brushed Motors After Wet Runs?

I always keep my brushed motors lubed and free. Usually I use CorrosionX in aerosol form to spray into the bushings a couple of squirts and lube the bearings and roll it freely a few times after heavy mud/water runs.

However everytime I go for another run I can see smoke and occasionally a flame shoots out the motor lol. I use CorrosionX on motors and I pack as much lithium grease as possible into the diffs and axle housings to block out mud/water when I go mudding. But the smoke and the flame worries me....

I wouldn't use anything that coats the comm... All you need to do is oil the bearings. Slight oxidation on the brass comm paddles will not effect conductivity.

I thought people used that stuff to water proof there electronics? Its not uncommon to see sparks but flame.... Cant be good.

Well the reason I use Corrosion X spray onto the brushes and comm is to try to prevent muddy water from building up in there after deep mudding or dirty water runs that completely submerges the motor.

I stopped spraying the motor's internals now after reading some more...it seems Corrosion X lasts for a long time after application. I probably sprayed way too much in there and it just kept building up.

Something in it is probably a bit flammable and a spark from the motor probably set off a little fireball lol.
