Default Picked up Phoenix 5 today to use w/my Spektrum5e but...

Found out I have a model of the Spektrum5e where I need to use an adapter cable between the USB cable and the controller. Darn!
I have that cable ordered now and won't have it for about another 4 days.

I did some quick googling on this, but is there any way to bind keyboard controls or an xbox 360 controller to the program to play around with it in the mean time?
Otherwise, I just have to sit here and stare at the Disc & my Spektrum controller sitting on my desk until my adapter comes.

Doesn't seem like you can get the Phoenix 5 software to do much in the way of a Xbox360 controller or keyboard, but I found an app on my smart phone "Absolute RC Plane Sim" that allowed me to do some flying, and then on a different message board I found a good article about a bunch of different software packages ranging from free to expensive...(http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1622981 ) Loaded up a free one (RC Desk Pilot) and it works fine with the Xbox 360 controller. This will be enough to play with until I can get my cable for my SpektrumDX5e. Can't wait to fly on the Phoenix simulator. Looks great. Tried it in a store for about 5min (never having flew a plane yet) and I was crashing and burning on every takeoff. Glad I didn't go out and buy a $100 plane to start with. Now an hour into the free software, I can take off, maneuver pretty well, land, and I feel I have a slightly better understanding of what I am getting myself into.
