Default How to hook up a transmitter to Realflight 8

I have a 10-year old but still perfectly functioning Art-Tech E-fly transmitter with a standard (I guess) trainer plug, a PC with windows 7 and RF8 flight simulator. My question is very simple: how to I hook up the transmitter to the PC so that it can control RF8? I would assume a USB cable or a dongle with a self installing driver compatible with most transmitters is the way, right? What would be an affordable and likely-to-work option?

Many thanks,
Paolo

The dongle IF it's compatible.

Personally I prefer the RF interlink tx for sim time, I don't want the wear and tear of all the extra sim time on my gimbles and switches
