i've got a pretty cool flames job for the chipmunk, but i don't know how to post a picture of it. I've already got it in jpeg form. I'm also almost done with a hot knive version of the extra special.

This took me over 10hours, but I am very happy with the results. Its based on the planes flown by[link=http://www.blaineaustin.com/]Blaine Austin[/link] and is a real joy to fly.

The actual plane I used for reference..

you just "save color scheme as" in the aircraft menu. Then a targa file will be in the color scheme folder

r1derbike -did you recieve yours and if so did it work for you?

Looks like my little career as plane painter is going to end soon -I ordered AFPD and will be selling my G3

Oh and I got a nice letter from Blaine Austin yesterday saying that he really likes what I did and that he might go pick up a copy of G3 so he can fly it. He also said that he is having a Yak built for himself to fly.

Hi,

Where in the Aircraft menu is the "save color scheme as" . All I have on G3 is

Select Aircraft
<Name of the aircraft curently loaded>
Reset Position Space
Kill Engine K

Then the history list of 4 aircraft that I have used before.

If you can help it would be great.

After copying the files to your "ColorSchemes" directory, you have to open the Aircraft Selection dialog, select the Yak-54 (not one of the other Yak variants), and from this dialog you can change the color scheme using the "Color Scheme" drop-down at the bottom of the diaog. "BlaineAustinReplica" should be one of the choices in that list.

Where in the Aircraft menu is the "save color scheme as" .
It sounds like you don't have the free helicopter update. You can get that here http://www.realflight.com/helis.html

Ok tried the normal yak and it still doesnt work. Doesnt show the new scheme. Once you save it in the color schemes folder do you have to do anything else?

What is needed to edit schemes? How can I make my own?

Maybe you are putting the .rar file in there without decompressing it? The .rar file that peefiddyonefan uploaded is a compressed file and will not work directly with G3. You have to decompress the contents first using a seperate program. Do you have a .rar decompressor? If not, you can find a free trial version called WinRAR at http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm. Once that's installed, you will be able to double-click on the .rar file, which will bring up a window showing the .tga and .colorscheme files. Then just drag those into to your ColorSchemes folder and you will be all set.

What is needed to edit schemes? How can I make my own?
You can edit the .tga files using Jasc Paint Shop Pro, Adobe PhotoShop, or any image editor that supports the .tga format.
