Default Turboprop Raven for AFP(D)

Found this on rc-sim.de this morning.

Not only does it fly sweet ... it sounds like real Turboprop Raven.

So far I've set propwash to 75 on V-stab and H-stab. Propwash 60 on wings.

This thing needs to be tweaked a little better. Guy did a great job on the plane. But lets all chip in and get this bad boy flying good so that he can upload the best version from all of our feedback.

This is the first plane that I've seen with wings that flex with G force, really cool. Flatspins are just incredible.

I noticed the incidence was off a bit too.

More input the better!

Capn I think your missing something here.

These people that produce these downloads do this for free. It's dozens, perhaps hundreds of modlers around the world. Do you actually think that they will continue to create these great works of art if Walmart is going steal their work for and sell it for .50 per CD and load them up with hundreds of planes? Now the product has become commercial, so now who is going to pay these modelers for all this? Walmart? No, what you are talking about is called piracy. Nobody can copy these planes without permission of the authors, if they do, they go to jail. Plain and simple.

This is nothing new. Microsoft Flight Simulator works the exact same way and it's the world's most succesful simulator of any kind. You buy the program, it comes with X amount of planes. Then there are dozens of websites that offer free downloads. They have been going strong for 20 years now.

Maybe this is something that you just not used too, but this is industry standard for the software game. Aerofly Pro and like other competitive software is what it is ... software. I think some RC modelers may think the sim since it's RC based needs to run on a computer powered by glow fuel or something. But the sim is not an RC airplane, it's just software and needs to be dealt with accordingly. Yes, some mouse clicking is involved to add free airplanes.

These are great privliages for all of us to have these modlers create these planes free of charge. It seems like your not thankful that they do this for us and you should be, I certainly am as well as thousands of our customers. I wouldn't even want them to read the kind statements you are making telling them that it's wasting your time clicking a couple buttons when it takes them weeks to produce each plane.

Either way if you want to sell AFP because of this that's just too bad. We've tried our best to help you and don't want to lose anyone due to a couple mouse clicks of work on your part. And if your worried that your cable is going to go bad ... trade it in. You've read the remarks about how Ikarus is dealing with the cables, everyone is happy.

Also email the guys who make these planes and ask them if they are going to run a AFP version too. Maybe they will.

Like you said the best selling versions of Microsoft Flight Sim....they sold alot of em...because you could get them at Wallmart , Staples, office max or just about any place software was sold. I bought 2 versions myself. With Micrsoft they did not care what controller or cable you used to run it. Right or not? Big Differance Capt,n

And they owe part of their success to having modlers from around the world contribute all of their free aircraft. Each one you have to dload one at a time just like AFP.

I think I'm going to have to re-trim the Raven in black with a red raven.

AFPD loves the color black as evident with the Extra 300S.

The Raven is truly awesome. Still needs a bit of tweaks, but flies, looks and sounds so real.

Are we back to this discussion again?

Did you have do anything to run your AFP planes either? No, just the free downloads, just like Microsoft Flight Simulator. Have you ever visited the website flightsim.com? There are over 30,000 downloads, each that you must install one at a time.

You didn't need a special cable to run the MS Flight Simulator? Wouldn't a joystick be considered a special cable. I have a yoke and rudder pedals that set me back almost $200. No Microsoft does not throw in the required cables or hardware, they make you buy one on your own.

I've been using MS Simulator for last 20 years and have installed thousands of free planes.

I just don't understand what your getting at Capn'. Your running in 2 different directions. I want to help you, not debate you.

IF YOU LOOK AT THE HOLE OF THIS FORUM THERE IS ONLY A MINORITY OF CUSTOMERS WHO ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WHICH IS PEA IN THE ATTLANTIC OCEAN COMPARED TO THE VAST AMOUNT OF HAPPY CUSTOMERS AND THATS WITH THOSE WHO HAVE HAD THEIR PROBLEMS RECTIFIED..

Anyhow ... back to the discussion ... the Raven.

This thing is just awesome. In slow flight it's capable of all kinds of new moves. Waterfalls are just so cool.

But the best part about the Raven are the landings. This is one of the first planes I've flown on the sim that require a 3 point touchdown for safe landing due to the oversize prop. Just like a real aerobatic planes out there. You have to do a full stall landing otherwise your bouncing.
