Default AFP/AFPD/FMS/MSFS Dummy Commanders Controllers In Stock!

The long awaited AFP/AFPD dummy Commanders are in stock. These USB controllers work with AFP or AFPD as the first or second controller if you have a copy of either version with the original Interface cable.

They also work for FMS and Microsoft Flight Sim too!

We also still the SIMCOM cable if you still want to use your own radio too.

Default RE: AFP/AFPD/FMS/MSFS Dummy Commanders Controllers In Stock!

That's a great item for people, who hasn't gotten their first transmitter yet--they can start practicing on a sim and decide what radio brand to go with later.
But why such people would have AFP/AFPD with an interface cable, which they could not have used (as they don't have a transmitter yet)? Looks like a rather unlikely situation...

For folks, who already purchased a transmitter, a regular TX-to-PC interface cable, preferably of USB variety, looks like a better solution. Besides the fact that most of the transmitters are better built than dummy controllers, one can take advantage of all the advanced features of a modern computer transmitter. Dummy commanders, from the other hand, won't offer you exponentials, double or triple rates, etc.

Besides, many TX-to-PC interface cables, even USB ones, are cheaper than these controllers--search the Net, there are many USB interfaces sold for about $40. Just pay attention to the interface compatibility and avoid serial PIC interfaces "in disguise"--they are just FMS PIC Serial interfaces with an integrated USB-to-Serial bridge, their native simulator support is limited to FMS and a couple of other sims, while true USB interfaces work with all the non-copy-protected simulators and with AeroFly Pro/Deluxe as a secondary interface.

Just mt $.02

Well 20% of people that purchase AFP get the Commander version. The reason is that you don't have to charge the radio and it's always on. A PIC-TX does not have this feature.

Your right the cables are cheaper, about $30, but you don't get a radio attached to the other end.

This is not supposed to be something to replace a TX-PIC as we already sell something like that, the SIMCOM. The only reason that Ikarus is now selling these is because we've had HUNDREDS of requests for these controllers, especially for MS Flight Sim users.

While it may not be a solution for you, it's needed for lots of other people out there. Please don't take this the wrong way, just letting you know.
