Default frame rates

I don't know it I should be asking this question on a computer forum or something, but what do you have to do to find out how many frames per second your are getting on a game or a computer game ? I seen lots of people talking about the frame rates in their sims.

rccrazedman, G3 does tell you fps in the Nav Guides. Nav Guides should come up when you press the "1" on your keyboard. Fps is basically how many times your screen refreshes in one secod.

i thought thats what it was but I wanted to be sure it didn't stand for something else . I get around 15-20. I know that the big thing is the Video card but would my frame rates go up if I add more ram to my computer ?
