You Have 2 choices ( or more that I don't know about): You can make the plane light.......................Or you can wait for the realflight G3 expansion packs to come out

Shouldn't upgrade requirements any. Maybe if the new planes have a new advanced model or something lie that, it may slow your PC a little. But if your PC works now it should work for EP1.

FYI for Tower Hobbies SuperSaver Club members -
After finding out about the upcoming expansion for G3, I went to Tower to preorder. It's listed on the Website for $32.99, but when I went to checkout I was only invoiced $28.99 and shipping charges were waived (It was my only item and didn't have any 'coupon codes' either). Bonus!

Thats awesome... I plan on getting it from my lhs. I will get him to order it for me.
I think it might actually have better performance. Read a little more about it before you state something. If you read Towers description it says something about the graphics being better. I wouldn't think it would be much but it might. I see a little room for improvement. Just so you know I don't own a top of the line graphics card either. I have a Nvidia geforce 6800 gt+.

The photo field is actually smoother to fly in than any of the 3d fields. The computer doesnt have to draw 3d landscape thus slowing it down. The Photofield is jus that, a picture of a backdrop that you fly against. That is why you cannot change perspectives. I get 60+fps on 3D fields and 100+ on photofields. Hope this helps.

The expansion pack's photofields aren't any more demanding on your system than the ones in .410. Great Planes may have said something like "4x the resolution" but that's compared to other sims, not our own.
