Default G2 Sim and P-51 problem

Still using the G2. I have a problem with the P-51 on landings. As soon as the gear touch down, the tail drops, and up she goes again. I've tried landing at various speeds, still the same result. It only happens with the P-51. The P-47 lands just fine, along with all the other tail draggers. Any thoughts?

come in with some power 1/3 throttle upon touch down, very easy on the elevator inputs

Your approach is too high. Come in low just like the real ones.

STLPilot,

Never thought of that before ! All the footage I have seen of P-51's landing have been with the aircraft in ground-effect for a long time before the mains touch.

Slippery boogers I guess

Hey Andy!!!

I have actually flown Andy's Mustang on his computer. It does some funny things when it touches down! It's not his approach angle or his speed, because it happened to me also it is just a parameter that we need to adjust. The only thing that I can think of is that his main gear is TOO far back and needs to be moved further forward of CG. This has made landing easier for several planes that I have on G2, however none of them are as flippy as Andy's Mustang.

Sorry I didn' t mention this earlier to you Andy!

Do you have off Monday 12/26? I am off, maybe we can get our kids together

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!

I cured the problem by lowering the main landing gear from -14.6 to -10.6. The same concept applies to the Ryan.

I moved the landing gear 1.00" back towards the CG. Now it acts as it should. Before, it would never nose-over. Now, I need up elevator during taxi and take-off, or she will nose-over. On landings, the tail no longer drops sending her back up.

Thanks RCBozo

Andy
