Well I think I have some really bad news! I finally got the new G3 update and began the process of re-importing the planes I made for it. So far the 1st plane I imported (Extra330s) flys like total crapola now? Prior to the update it was flying really nice (was setup by Ryan Archer for IMAC). If this is going to happen to all the planes I made its going to be a major setback[

EDIT I was wrong about what I said above. I was doing something wrong when re-importing planes into G3. But now for some reason colors arent showing up for other users??

My edits aren't flying right either. Also, Harv told me how to make the whole wing an aileron and that can't be done anymore. And on top of all this, G3 had a problem while hosting earlier and shutdown. I don't know if this is a problem or not. I'm probably going to save all planes and schemes and start G3 all over again. Updating to the pre .426 update.

Yeah for some reason I can only host if I shut off my anti virus software, didnt have to do that before[>:] When you reimport the planes you have to replace the plng3 file thats why they fly funny. Best to wait for everyone to upload the NEW G3X files and then they will import fine.

I didn't have to reimport any planes. I just updated. I'm no software expert(not even close), but what's the difference between the 3dx and the plng3 files? I haven't redone anything yet. Anything I should look out for?

Guys, I hope this isn't too dopey a question, I'm new to G3 ...
With the new beta update feature and the ability to import airplanes ... does this mean construction of new airplanes? For example, the model of the plane I own isn't one of the planes in the list of aircraft supplied with the product. Does this mean that me or someone else could build a complete new aircraft and now export/import it thereby adding whole sets of new planes?
If this is the case, how does one go about creating a new plane model?

hey guys, harv here, you guys are syain you are all havin problems with your edits. My edits are actually pretty good. and for the importing and exporting(aircraft, schemes...etc.)its hard to understand how to use those importing/exporting thing.

Yes, they are new models created by Rick and Nemo, who are both awesome. You need 3D Studio, I think, which is around $3000. But yes, this is the long awaited importer for planes. Downlaod the G3X file, get .426 update, ingame go to Simulation, Import, G3X, and voila, import G3X and You have a new aircraft in Custom section.

I can't get to the download. When I click on the link on the Announcement thread, I get an error that says I do not have permission to access the page.
Do I have to be a registered Beta Tester to get the "Public Beta"?

Hmm. As far as I can tell right now you can pick up 3d studio max 8 for a whole lotta money that equals $384.95
If you just wanna go on the year license for it you can pick it up for a killer $178.95
If you are a student...
it's $3500 for everyone else. But really this is a professional 3d modeling software package that is used by many game developers. I'm not shocked by the sticker price. Just look at the price for a full copy of Photoshop. That's quite expensive as well.

Well you can use any modeling software application you want that can save a format out that 3D studio max can read in. That's the sticker. The exporter only works in Max

hhmmm.. strange, I have the .426 upgrade, but no skyship! Also, when i go to import the mini katana, the only option on my menu reads- "raw panoramic image". isnt there supposed to be a G3X option??
