RE: New Flight Sim FSone
Yeah I've read the threads. Other than one person's opinion on how it flies we've not seen any others. I payed over $200 for G3 when I bought it so I don't think it costs more than G3 unless they have dropped the price in the last 2 days. It was still $220 at my LHS a few days ago. It's also still $200 at tower as well.
I'll hold off on my judgement of it until I can fly it. I have my own issues with G3.

Maybe it flys well. I don't know. I think my G3 flys well and there isn't a good reason for buying FS One, IMO. It has limited features compared to the big 3 and is priced about the same.

All I want is a realistic flight model that actually reacts the way real airplanes do. For example, aerobatic R/C airplanes, (this is my biggest complaint with G3) should be able to snap and spin using only rudder and elevator. Full-scale aircraft do it that way as well. Until they get that down, G3 is very limited IMO. So, if this FSone gets that part right and missing a little of the fluff that G3 offers, I'll switch. Otherwise, I'll stick with G3.

the only thing i like about that FS one is that they have soo many planes i wish i had on G3, but those planes on FS one dont look like they have been built very well.

HUM Don't tell my airplanes or the judges, guess I been doing my R/C planes snaps wrong all this time!
While I agree that full scale planes snap with elevator and rudder inputs - and I should know because I spent 15 years as an IAC competitor - many R/C airplanes won't fully stall and auto-rotate without a little help. If your 1/4 scale Extra had 1/4 the wing area and was 1/4 the weight, maybe it would fly like - well, like the full scale airplane. I haven't seen many 48-60lb full scale airplanes and I'm pretty sure that no-one is flying a 250+lb GP Extra.
So let's see - how does Mike McConville describe how to perform snaps?

I fly figures in G3, or any other R/C sim, the same way I fly them out at the flying field. I even flew them that way testing FSOne.
???
