Also, where can I go to get a realistic p-51 model for fms?

As a free software package, you certainly can't beat the price. FMS is a good simulator for those on a limited budget who are just starting in R/C modeling. It is good enough for a beginner to learn coordinated turns and the ever elusive control reversal on approach. It can give a beginner some very valuable stick time and minimal cost. For these reasons, I consider it a valuable tool within the modeling community but it does not compare with the simulators that are commercially available.

I have a P-51 drawn but have not had time to import it into FMS yet.

No, but it still helped me a lot with orientation before I started flying.

Some FMS planes are actually pretty good. Many that you can find for download are not.

Is FMS realistic? Probably not.

Can it help a newbie learn the control inputs? Most definitely. ( I soloed on my 5th flight and pass my flight
exam on my 7th flight all because of FMS, including a great dead stick landing to complete the exam.)

Could I have learned a little more for an extra $200.00 ? We will never know.

Here's the [link=http://gunnerson.homestead.com/files/pz-p51d.zip]ParkZone P-51D[/link] you can try from my website. It's recently been adjusted to more closely resemble the real model. Others think it flies very close to the real thing.

Looking at performance per dollar, FMS is very realistic...

For a free simulator, it does a great job of teaching the basics of control and orientation, but when compared to the $200 G3, FMS suffers in comparison... but, did I say it IS free?
