i want to get into rc flying really badly and i was looking at a simulator to start me off. i wanted something that is pretty realistic and allows you to build your own plane and field, the feild isn't nessacary but would be a cool feature. also i wanted it to be able to do 3d fling and regular flying. also i wanted it to come with a tx.

That's a religious question and you'll get a zillion answers.

I've owned AeroFly (latest version) and G3 and prefer G3. I just like the way G3 feels and operates, they are both good and both fit your requirements.

Be aware though that you need a fairly beefy Desktop computer and graphices card to get all your money's worth.

our computer is reall new and quick. i guess the g3 is the one, anyone else have any suggestions?

I use G3, it works good for me, I can't speak for any other ones but G3 is awesome. I'm sure STLPilot can give you a mile long list of why you should pick AFPD, but then another person can post a mile list on why to buy G3. It's all a matter of personal opinion. Either will work. I recommend G3 from personal experience.

Well, I chose you because your a huge supporter of AFPD, I know there are a lot of others that use AFPD, but your the first person that pops into my mind when I think of super die hard AFPD user.

can g3 do SOME 3d flying and SOME inverted flying? oh yah are there any indoor places to fly in g3.

question on g3, im am almost about to purchase i just have a few last questions

1. how well does the panaramic picture taking of ur flying site work.
2. are the planes fairly relistic (compared to acutally flying them)
3. how "beefy of a computer do u need"
4. how much did d3 help u if u have it.

also based from the scale 1-10 (10 being the best) what would u rate.

IF you are just starting i would suggest G3.

it's better for the beginners, with the virtual flight instructor and stuff

for working on freestyles and IMAC routines, and perfecting manuvers, i use AFPD.

FS One is to new and I don't think anyone has it to post an opinion about it yet. IF you see a review of FS One come from someone who isn't a regular on this forum, then I would say that it's a Horizon promotion. I'm hoping to fly it at my LHS soon and I will post my findings. So far it looks pretty darn good, but then again, Horizon can market dirty socks to a goldfish and still get a sale. Only time will tell, but right now G3 is probably the best. You can make it easy or hard, you can make it fly the way you want it to, and you can join the online club.

Which simulator is best for practicing flying giant scale warbirds?

I can comment on what's in the FS One sim. We have many Hangar 9
planes, and they are "sport scale". The Scaling Wizard in the sim
will scale up the size of the plane and the physics to match whatever
size is given. We've already done this with many of the baseline
airplanes to generate variants. I'm not sure what defines a "Giant
Scale" airplane, but here are some big planes - a lot of them scaled
up Hangar 9 planes. All but the MiG-15 are less than 100 lbs.
Those approaching 100-lbs fit in under the new AMA 100-lb

When you say there is no variable pitch, do you mean on the fly on in the aircraft editor, or of course, not at all.

Waiting for the day when one of you guys will figure out how to put prop pitch on a proportional channel.
