Default PHOENIX 1.02 UPDATE

The Phoenix 1.02 update is available - i thought id point out
a few of the improvements that have made it better for me
its still not perfect but id recommend it to anyone

- All new 3D helicopter and 2/4-stroke 3D airplane sound effects
- Gyro system improved for more realistic blowouts during extreme manuevres

and heres the rest

New Features:
- Maximum recording time increased to 5 minutes.
- Phoenix now disables screensaver on startup/re-enables on exit.
- PhoenixUpdate makes updating your copy of Phoenix easier and more secure.
- New aircraft: Yak 30, B17 Flying Fortress, Extra 330 PW, ShiftRotor and others.
- Smoke activation can now be assigned to a switch or keypad number.
- Checkbox options are now inflight-tuneable.
- Starting positions and orientations can be cycled using hotkeys CTRL+P / O.

Enhancements:
- More advanced lighting system for all sceneries and models.
- Improved rotor-blur effects.
- Alpha-masking for increased background/model interaction.
- Increased silhouetting against sunshine and light-glare.
- Improved glass-reflection effects.
- Thicker and optimised smoke effects.
- Many sceneries reworked for even sharper image quality.

Helicopter dynamics:
- Improved drag-profile for greater falling speed against gravity.
- More blade flapping during extreme manuevres.
- Increased pitch-range: -13 to +13 degrees.

Fixed-wing dynamics:
- Even more realistic spin-physics for enhanced tumbling and flat-spins.
- Increased stability during prop-hanging.
- Increased inertia for greater feeling of weight.

As a TRex owner you cant get much better model than the Scythe - although it does
need tweaking on the power.
If the Synergy flies like the one on the sim then that is an amazing machine!

Hi,

Could somebody with PhoenixRC 1.02 post some screenshots. I'm interested to see what the "More advanced lighting system for all sceneries and models" & "Improved glass-reflection effects" look like.

thanks,

Tony.

Thanks very much for the screenshots. I think I'm going to have to sell my copy of AFPD. Does anyone know if the G3 controller works with PhoenixRC?

Nah they use their own dongle just like reflex - but think of it this way: for the cost difference you can actually buy a cheap reasonable transmitter to use with it!

I really like the fact that the tape on that profile foamy even shines. Nice touch.
