I currently have G2 and like it, I know that it is not the best simulator out there, but I am a new pilot with limited $. Is there any siginificant reason to upgrade from my G2 to G3 or Aeroflight, or Phoenix? I am looking for something to improve my skills in the winter months.

Matter of fact, there are a couple of regulars around here who suggest that people use G2 as their learning tool because it's capable of the job plus it's cheaper (and since you already own it, you're not going to beat that for cheap) and works better on less capable pc's.

For non 3d flight G2 is as good as G3. For 3d flight, you can try ClearView from http://rcflightsim.com - the 3d plane simulation is quite good and you can use your G2 controller. For $30 will be good addition to your G2.

How is G-2 vs G-3 for Scale models such as warbirds? Is G-3 much better? I don't do 3D either.
