Default Giles on G2 compared to the real thing

Does anyone out there have a comparison between the 1/4 scale Giles (addons #3) to the real GP 1/4 Scale Giles.

Thanks for any info,
IronZ

Yep,
Not too accurate in my opinion. The simulator will snap way before the actual plane will. However, the actual plane does snap before most others will. So in that respect perhaps it's good preperation. Otherwise - I love how the 1/4 flies but hate it on the Sim.

I guess I have a different experence.
The Sim flys just like my plane.
I have a Giles with a Brison 2.4 gas engine and it behaves just like my plane. It's slow flying characteristics are the same and its handling is the same.

Say Geistware,
Did you alter G2's stock settings for Giles? If so, could you provide specifics? Thankx

Thanks guys. I'm going to have a Brison 2.4 on mine also. It should be awsome!

No, I didn't change anything other that the throws. I made high rates equal 45 degrees. Other than that, it is stock. I do admit that the G2 version does not fly like a Giles with a YS120 but it does fly like one with a Brison 2.4

I would recommend that you begin your CG at 9 1/4 and move it back slowly to 9. It will reduce your stall speed. I have been as low as 8 3/4 but didn't like it.

How is the performance of this plane? Will it 3D at all? Is it as hard to get a straight upline or hover as it is in G2?

Where is a good place to buy gas engines like Brison, 3W, etc?

Regards,
Philip

I don't fly 3D but I have seen posts on RCU of people who have it on glow and says it is good. Uplines are fine if you have it trimmed. For whatever reason, if the rudder is not straight then it will track at an angle. It also seems to be affected by engine thrust. Make sure everything is square.

As far as engines, Brison engines from Brison and ZDZ engines from RC Showcase. I would first try to get an engine through RCU and then go to the distributer if I cannot find what I am looking for.
