Default G2 video requirements? (on the cheap) - UPDATE

I'm a mac guy, but I've got an old PC that I'm thinking of setting up for G2. I'd like to spend as little as possible to get the full 3D benefits of G2. Its a Pentium 450 with Win98, 2gb hard drive, 64 mb ram, sound blaster something er other, 32x cdrom.

What's the cheapest video card that works well for this?

What's should I increase my ram to?

Anything else that I'll need?

Thanks.

UPDATE: Just info for anyone else who's updating their computer. I bought a Radeon 7000 32mb video card for $40 and an extra 128mb ram for $45 from Comp USA. I'm getting about 40fps (perfect, with no chop) with all the details on. Looks great and I couldn't be happier! I've only had 3 other flyers besides me on multiplayer but it ran just fine.

I bought a 3DFX Voodoo 3000 through EBay fir $11 plus shipping. It will handle G2 and then some. I ran the test program that comes with RealFlight Classic and it showed 73 - 76 FPS. That is more than adequate to run G2. The Voodoo 3000 was far ahead of its time.

Default Voodoo

I thought the G2 had problems with the Voodoo. Or maybe it's just with voodoo I and voodoo II.

Yup. The voodoo cards aren't supported on G2...

Old TNT 2 cards work fine. I ran G2 on a PII 450 with VideoBlaster TNT 2 for months and it's just dandy. The AGP interface is fairly important. PCI video won't be so nice. Keep some of the detail settings down - like clouds, tree detail, etc. to keep the frame rate up.
