Questions about Simulator Selection
Hi there,
I have pc without AGP slot (Accelerated graphic port) & has inbuilt/onboard audio/video cards.
But i have 3 PCI slots.
I want to purchase a simulator which can support my p-4.
Is there any one who runs Real Flight Generation 3.5 simulator without AGP card installed on pc.
Or is there any other simulator which i can run on my PC.
Or is there any solution for my pc.
Can i use VGA (video graphic array) card in any pci slot, Can it support real flight G3.5 simulator.
Manish.

RE: Questions about Simulator Selection
If you check the Realflight website, it states the system requirements are:
Minimum:
Allows minimal simulator functionality.
Windows Vista*, XP*, 2000*, ME, 98
Intel® Pentium® 1.0 GHz or equivalent
DirectX® 9 (or above) compatible video and sound card
3D accelerated video card with 32 MB (or more) RAM
256 MB RAM
2 GB hard drive space
With that said,
1. You need to know your processor speed which isn't indicated in your message.
2. Onboard video capabilities "Rarely" are sufficient. Even though it's built in it's still built around a chipset. Check your device manager to determine what it is, (ATI, Nvidia, etc) and obtain the version. Go to the manufacturer's website and check for 3D capabilities, later version of the driver for your operating system, etc.
3. Insure you have completed all updates to your OS and optimized your system prior to installation.
That's the Minimum, the Optimum states:
Optimum:
Enables complete simulator functionality.
Intel Pentium 3.0 GHz or equivalent
3D accelerated video card with 128 MB (or more) RAM
1GB RAM
There are some lower end sim's that may work with your system, however, it doesn't sound like G3 will be the best selection. To investigate further goto www.realflight.com . They have a very good help section there.
Hope this helps.
