Default List of conversions? Like kN's to Pounds of thrust???

Hi guys/gals, I'm looking for a good conversion table for modelers to be able to convert the metric numbers in my sim. Does anyone have anything like this, or know where a good modeling specific site is? What I'd like is a conversion for thrust, and wind speed. I'm too old (read lazy) to figure out metric conversions! I'd like to fly in 5~10 mph winds, moderate gusts and turbulence, and if I could get a table of static thrust in pounds to kN's I'd be ecstatic!

Thanks for any help!
Darrell

Hmmmm.... I tried the conversion chart....good one by the way, I tried to convert pounds of force to kilonewtons of force, and came up with; 18 pound-force = 0.080 067 988 8 kilonewton.

However, in Clearview the thrust is shown as 140..... I don't know how to get from one to the other?????

There is in my humble opinion only one complete program, and that is Convert.exe.

Hmmm....maybe I should restate what I'm looking for.....

In the Advanced Setup in Clearview Flight Sim, the max thrust is a value of 140. My plane is putting out 18 lbs. of static thrust. I'm using a calibrated and very accurate fish scale, and have the aircraft on a very slippery surface....

Anyway, I know that that's not dynamic thrust, and don't want to get into that discussion.... what I'm really looking for is the conversion of the 140 value to my static thrust of 18 lbs.

Sorry for the confusion....I posted when I was about to pass out from lack of sleep!!!

Thanks again!
Darrell

The thrust in ClearView is in newtons. For example, if an object has a mass of 10 kilograms, its weight (the force it applies on a scale) on Earth is 10 x 9.8 (m/s2) = 98 newtons. 140 newtons trust will lift model with weight under 14.285 kg ( 31.7 lbs).

Mass, forces and drag in ClearView may not be exact as in a real model, but all could be scalled up or down so no single number can be substituted by exact model measurment.

And you are right, 18 pound-force = 80.067 newtons

One Newton is 0.2248 pound force

To fly a powred glider, you need 1/10th the weight in pull
To fly a sports plane, you need about half the weight in pulling force
to fly aerobatics, pull should equal weight
to fly 3D, pull must equal 1.5 times weight or better.
