Default I FIXED IT !!! I got the stupid flashing to go away.

I figure out how to make the flashing problem go away for FMS, for Vista and Nvidia combo owners.

For photolistics sceneries. You need the 2.8 version in order to run photolistic sceneries.
2.7 gets ship as a FREEBIE with Esky.

You just use Harald's .scn files from his site. AKA BennyX.
He makes sceneries for dfferent sims. There's a direct links to his site on his thread and Heli-x.net.

Harald wrote a perimeter surrouding the pilot. It's transparent. Only one side though.
But that's okay.. you're not suppost to see it.

Anyway, just convert the .jpg images into .bmp (24bit) As his instructed.

The only thing you have to do is resize the bottom image incorrectly.
Just resize it to 2040x2040 instead of 2048x2048.

If you use 1024x1024, just resize the bottom panel to 1020x1020.

The stupid flashing is from the bottom panel trying to get projected.
By using the incorrect size image, it prevent it from gettting display.
Kind of like a model that just turns white if the skin file is incorrect.
It just truns white....but no more flashing.

Don't worry..you don't see the bottom panel. It'll be the same as Reflex.
Reflex sceneries don't have the bottom of a pano..that's why it's 8160x 3060 instead of 8192x4096.

You need that object in the .scn file that Harald wrote.
You can resize it so that you don't see it, if you wish.

Use 2.8 version.

Download a photolistic scenery.
http://www.szenerien.de/FMS-Szenerien/index.htm

You must convert the 6 images into .bmp files. Use a batch converter or any art/paint software. Such as window's paint.

In the photolistic scenery folder are 6 images (skybox).
Resize the bottom image to an INCORRECT size. That's it.

You can also use other sceneries that Harald made for Heli-x. Simply swap the skybox images.

Use NOTEPAD to open the .SCN file. You can edited the texture's name. Rename the skybox images to match exactly what's in .SCN file.
You can also edited the camera's and model's posistion.

You can also use .scn files that I made for FMS. You can also download sceneries I converted for FMS.
Look in tthe FMS's site (forum) Landscape section. You must however delete the crash piont data in my .scn files. (at bottom)

If I confused ya...Just PM me. I have plenty of sceneries I can send to you.

They're the same sceneries for Reflex, Aerofly, Realflight
I can't post them for upload becuase...lol
But i can share them with you though.

Can this be used with any existing scenes? Let's say the scenes that came with the program?

NO....

Yes an No.
You can simply resized the terrain image to the incorect size. and all the terrian image will turn white. but this will defeat the purpose
of having texture.
The stock FMS comes as 3D without photolistic scneries...some people won't reserch or have the time to look into it.
Some people just shoot from the hips without doing reserch or getting familar with FMS.

The stock textuere images are only at 256x256.... they're small. You can use larger images for to make 3d sceneries look better.

For Photolistic sceneries.

There's plenty of equirectangular or 360x180 panaroma you can down load everywhere.

If you go to the FMS's site look in the landscape sections there's plenty of links and how to for photolistic sceneries.

Bascailly FMS will look like any other sims out in the market today. They all use skybox or sphere mapping for photolistic scneries.
well....at least mind dose. All i did was do a little reserch. I use sceneries from other sims in FMS.
