Default Joystick for FMS problems

I am running FMS version2 alpha 8.3 with a Logitech extreme 3D pro joystick, usb interface. The throttle is the first problem. I can calibrate it in FMS and it works correctly. zero to max. It also work corectly on MS Flight Simulator. On some FMS models, various downloaded online; I get full throttle with no control. Some I get maybe 40% to max control. Others zero all the time. There are other control problems I think but until the power works it is hard to say. FMS calibrate shows:
1 Aileron
2 Elevator
3 Throttle
4 Rudder
Any help please?
Thanks

Default RE: Joystick for FMS problems

Hello hfb,

First, upgrade to the lastest version of FMS 2 alpha 8.5.

Second, go into the FMS calibration for controls of the joystick and make sure you assign the right numbers for the correct response of the blue bars. FMS may use a channel number for a control surface but it is always independent of the controller which has to match the controller's channels not the FMS channels.

Third, most 3 channel aircraft put the primary turning control (rudder or aileron) on the aileron channel.

Hope the info helps.

I have the same setup.  Use:

Rudder: 4
Elevator: 2
Aileron: 1
Throttle: 3
Tail: 4
Nick: 2
Roll: 1
Pitch: 3

One thing I did notice; on planes, you have to have your throttle open slightly when the model loads, or it will be inop.  Also, make sure to CENTRE THE THROTTLE when calibrating the joystick.

Cheers,
G.
