Default Does 10% or 15% glow fuel cause HOLES IN SHIRT??

I have been flying for a while and have came home to get my shirt that I wore to the field washed. Well, when the shirts (yes I say shirts) came out, they had like 4 or 5 holes in the bottom. I'm just not sure if the things in the shirt had a reaction to something in the fuel. I just dunno. But, I have intentionally put fuel and then Had it washed. When it came out nothing was out of order. No holes or signs of holes that could form. I hope that I can find something out. I have posted this same question to other forums and nobody cave me an answer. Actually, nobody even posted anything. Thanks............

I'd say you got some battery acid on it somehow.

hobbsy beat me to it. Sounds like a leaky battery somewhere. I've had fuel on shirt sleeves and jeans countless times with no damage, but just a tad of battery electrolyte from a lead acid, or maybe alkaline battery, and you have extra ventilation.

Seriously I don't know what caused it to happen. I mean it really doesn't matter, I always wear bad clothes, but I just am wondering what I causing that. I had a hole in my club's shirt that I got when I first started flying...........maybe someone else had some ideas..........I could have got some of the battery acid and didn't know it..........

Actually glow fuel will cause holes in a shirt, if it catches on fire!

I was going to make the same comment about burning glow fuel. It doesn't make much of a noticable flame and you could easily get a couple of small burning drops on a shirt and never know it.

Glow fuel exhaust emits acetic acid. Try it on your lawn, then on your shirt.
