OK fuel guru's....here is a tuff one

then again maybe not...........
fuel in my stock is Sig all castor fuel.
25% oil, and 10% nitro content.

need to bring it up to 25% by aqdding Nitro, but i'm not sure what the amount to add would be?

why fool with it and not simply buy more you might say.........i have 4 gallons of this and don't want to toss it if i can make it work.

Question: Do you want to keep the oil percentage at 25 percent?

Solve your problem in ounces.
There are 128 ounces in a gallon.
So you've got 32 ounces of oil at 25 percent oil.
Your 10% nitro fuel should have 12.8 ounces of nitro per gallon (call it 13 ounces).
Apparently you want to raise the nitro percentage to 25%.
So in your final mix you want to have 32 ounces of nitro per gallon.
Seems to me that 10% should be OK for whatever you're doing....except for racing.

i would like to keep the oil percentage at no less than 20%.

the fuel was originally bought for use in a couple older RC engines that were designed to be run on castor oil fuels with minimum 25% oil. the conrods are non bushed and would die with synthetic oiled fuels.
the engine i want to run this fuel in now is the K&B 40RR from the late 60's which also have non bushed conrods.

Pour 12 ounces of nitro into 88 ounces of your original fuel = 100 ounces of new mix at 25% nitro and 22% oil

I think that will only get the nitro to about 21%, not 25%. To get to 25% nitro, pour 16.7 oz nitro into 83.3 oz of the original fuel. The resulting 100 oz of fuel will have 25% nitro and about 21% oil. Or, just pour 25.6 oz of nitro into a gallon of the original fuel to get the same result. (I think JC used 15% nitro in the original fuel in his calculation, not 10%)

what needs to be brought up to 25% Oil or Nitro?

you have 4 gallons of what? fuel or oil or niro.

is your current fuel
25% Oil +10% Nitro + 65% Methanol = 4Gallons ? (is this the problem statement)

hauckf,
thx for the formula.
appreciate that you understand what i am using and trying to modify.............i'll juice up a quart first and if that works then i'm set.
worst case scenario- BUY NEW FUEL:D and give the 10% stuff away......
thx
