Cheap and easy large scale wheels
These trolley wheels seem like a good setup for a large build.
Cheap as chips too.
I've seen them for $10.
These came off my fridge trolley though.
Hope I don't need to move any fridges before I get around to replacing them...
Right, so I had an idea that they would be split, which was correct, but the cylindrical bit holding the bearings was actually flanged on the other side, holding the two halves of the rim together.
So it took a bit of grinding to get all the parts separated.
Next I made a thingo to go inside where the bearings used to sit.
Ready to be put together.
Pressed in and the plate welded on to the cylinder
Drilled and tapped some holes for grub screws
Got too caught up in the momet and forgot to offset the grubscrews 90 degrees.
All bolted up and ready to go.
As these rims aren't exactly precision engineered, I think some adjustments will have to be made to make the halves line up properly

RE: Cheap and easy large scale wheels
.......and for $20, you can get two wheels and a bag trolley (nice light tube with bends for chassis) from Super Cheap Auto when they're on special. The bearings and the tubes are a bit dodgy. I had to pump them up weekly so got a couple of brand name tubes for $7.50 ea from the tyre shop and haven't had a flat since.

Not much to video at the moment.... just a wheel by itself.
