Default 62cc motor, King of the hill??

What do you think is the 62cc motor the most powerful motor you can get?? Is it the fastest?? Is it worth the expense apoxx $2500.00 dollars when you add up all the parts and modificatioin you need to do to make this motor put out some real power!!! Or is the motor mostly hype??

By the sounds of it, it is king of the hill right now. Doubt it's going to ever be the "best bang for the buck" mod though.

Check out OBR's 50.8cc inline twin engine. It's a high revving engine with big displacement.... Rev's like a 26cc, but has similar power to the 62cc....

I heard about that the other day. It has the revs that the 62 cc lacks. I wonder how much it will be going for??

guess what will end up in my formula off road build if I ever get it finished mind you there's been boat twins out for a while though not strictly twins as it's 2 singles bolted together and not a common crankcase

An engine that long that you have to scroll sideways

that is wicked Mooman!! With an inline twin you better build that car from scratch so the chassis drivetrain can withstand the tire shreding torque!!

Maybe it's one of these, the thread on HBF said they had to run methanol because of cooling issues not sorted yet.

I think these high output engines are better suited for 4WD cars.
A baja or similar 2WD would be very hard to control with an engine like this. I can imagine upgrading a 4wd drivetrain to handle a powerful engine like this is almost the same cost as the engine itself!
That said, I still want one..   Just to quote a friend who tunes 1:1 cars: 'Way too much power is just about enough'

They would be nice in a heavy 4 wheel drive like a MCD for example

OBR is working on a complete twin drop-in kit. The exhaust will be done by Jet-Pro, the engine mounting I heard by Turtle and Scorpion is I think doing a longer chassis to tame the wheelies. One of the problems is the twin doesn't use a finned flywheel so that's where the cooling hurdle comes in. I really hope the whole thing works out. Twin piston pumpin power would be awesome in the Baja!

OBR has a short video:

Maybe, they could use a electric cooling fan on these motors??

That is not going to make the motors run cooler.

I saw a neat rad and pump set up in a build thread somewhere that came with a 50cc or so pocket bike motor (I think), if you want one now you can run it on methanol.
Motor makes crazy power in the vid...definaitely something i want in the future and at $550 not too terribly expensive either
