Default Is it me or...

the Baja platform is a pain in the butt to service? I have had two things break (servo saver and clutch pinion screw) and I damn near had to take the front and rear off to replace the clutchbell and the servo saver. I never have a problem working on any other platform...they seem to be better laid out. Just puttin' it out there...

+1 I dread having to work on my Kalee which is realy similar to the HPI chassis but with even more components lol, they sure know how to pack 10lbs of sh** into a 5lbs bag :-).... Out of all the 1/5 scales I have owned these HPI style chassis are by far the most involved to even do the simple tasks like swaping out the steering servo, installing a new engine or changing the brakes lol. They are a nice setup just a pain to work on and way more nuts, bolts, washers, spacers ect when I take something apart.

There isn't a good end to work on unfortunately. The wing is the part I most enjoy working on.

The front end is not so bad, especially since it involves pulling some pins to remove the entire radio box. Now, the back end is a different story..

Yes. It is a huge pain to work on. The entire thing has to come apart.

The On roads might be. But the Off road ones or not. I dread every time I have to take my FG MT apart.

I agree. I was swapping out the suspension arms on my Baja with RPMs and I got the front ones done but the rears were an all night affair. I dread having to change anything major out back there.

Great news! It's not just you! I also think the HPI Baja platform is a real pain in the butt to service! I've serviced several different largescale platforms from several manufacturers and just don't like the Baja. I really like most all of HPI's product line and own a few of them but I gotta say they don't always build them with the idea of being easy to service, but from a modeler's perspective that's part of our hobby and gives us an added challenge that keeps things interesting.
