Default WT-990 vs. WT-813

I see that today's Deal of the Day is the WT-990 carb. It says that the wt-990 is the same carb as the wt-813, but does not have the internal acceleration pump. Knowing that bit of info, what makes the wt-990 more expensive than the wt-813? Even on sale, the wt-990 is just under the retail price of a wt-813.

Because they can. I do agree you would think less parts to make less parts to install it would be cheaper. I did order one from DDM and going to sell one of my new spare 813.

So is it worth getting? Or would the money be better spent on a wt-813?

Default RE: WT-990 vs. WT-813

I did much asking on several forums about the 990 and like so many things some like them better then the 813, some do not and others do not like either. So I figured out I was going to have to get one to see for myself and come to my own conclusion. I have two 813 one on an engine and one new I am going to sell. The 813 seem to be better at top RPM then at low end and are more meticulous to tune then a 668. As far as a 990 only time will tell. Now neither of them have a choke and this is done for better flow. With the 813 it has a pump so I wondering if it makes it easier to start as you can wick the throttle to get gas to the motor. I found a place that sells the 990 at their every day price of $49 but are out of stock right now. DDM just finally got them back in stock. Some or all of the new 4 bolt Zenoah come with the 990. Hope this makes sense as it is late here and I am really tired.

Thanks for the incite 46u. That's pretty much what I wanted to know. I've got about another half hour before they post the new Dotd, maybe I'll quick order a 990 just to give it a shot. How much were you planning on selling your 813 for?
