RE: Anyone get an email fro Dave's Motors
DDM are a Baja specialist and a HPI distributor so I can see why Horizon dont want to have them selling Losi's as well. Nothing wrong with spreading things around and giving other retailers a slice of the LS market. DDM also engage in some uncouth business practices, some of which have been explained in posts above and others which havn't been mentioned which are highly likely to be influencing Horizons decision.

I'm not familiar of any bad business practices. However, in today's environment, no one should be kept from doing business. That in it self is bad business. .

I've not seen bad posts about DDM. Any complaint that I have seen has always been answered. Usually the complaints are by people that refuse to contact the company and instead go to a forum and shoot their mouths off without trying to get resolution or have not given the situation more than a few hours to allow for some sort of resolution. So "highly likely" to be influencing Horizon's decision? I "highly" doubt it.

Horizon has rules, and they make no exceptions.....same with Hobbico......... If you don't have a proven brick and mortar store you don't get an account... With Horizon you also need to make a substantial first orde in the magnitude of 30K, split between their 4 branches Airplanes, Helicopters, Boats and land based RC's...... you cannot just pick and choose what you want......... I own a fancy high end track that hosted the Candian RC Pro Nationals, have substantial yearly sales numbers and I am still unable to secure a Hobbico or Horizon dealership......My track even has a pro shop and all the other suppliers and distributors deal with us.......To be honest I am happy to see Horizon doesn't make exceptions for anyone...tho I wish they didn't have such strict policies, but at the same time I am happy to see that they actually enforce their policies and not give favoritism to certain parties...... BAsically if you want to deal Horizon products you need to spend some serious cash and be running a full time brick and mortar hobby store....

Horizon distributes/sells HPI. So you saying, ''I can't see why Horizon don't want to have them selling Losi's as well'' is incorrect.

I don't know wether they are able to buy them on a wholesale basis from a Losi distributor in which case they are only upset because they arent getting distributor price on them? In Oz any proper hobby shop can buy them from the local Losi distributor without having to carry other products from that importer.
