RE: cant decide on what rc
haven't driven an xt but my buddy has one so seen it go round my track ....with a pipe it moves along pretty good...only bad point i saw was the lack of reinforcing rings on the wheels...buddy stripped 3 rear wheels in one day...get some hpi adapters and wheels and you're be good to go i reckon

Ahh, I was confused also...too many similar names in the Redcat line, heheh...the brushless Shredder and the Dunerunner are not even in the same class! If you want a electric car, I wouldn't even know what to tell you cause I'm a gasser, LOL!

This is why I said Dune Runner. From what little I know of electric large scale you do not get much run time on a charge. Gas 40 or better then you just top it up and go again.

yea thats what i was thinking about electric too but after owning to nitro trucks i dont know if i want to deal with the maintance. again ive never owned a 2/5 scale so gas might be easier than nitro but idk

You would need to compare the Dunerunner versus the XB-E. They are around the same class. The Shredder is a lightweight and not meant for major bashing like the XB-E if you want to go electric.

Gas engines are much easier to maintain and run then nitro. With nitro you have to keep tuning all day and then at the end of the add after run oil. Not so with gas. After break in you tune and unless you have BIG weather changes should be good to go. Even when you nave to make changes for weather it is very little and normally only have to do it once.
Look at this way how much maintenance do you have to do to you gas weed wacker? About the same with a gas RC car. Only thing you will have to do more often is clean the air filter.
With gas you run till your gas tank is low fill it up and keep going. To run electric all day long you better invest in several GOOD battery charges and several batter packs to run all day which is not cheap.
I race with a guy that has a Dune Runner and it seem to be a decent entry level gasser. He has not had it real long and probably has less then a gallon on it. He did put his better radio system in it and a kill switch which to me is mandatory on a large scale that weighs 20 to 40 pounds. If you have a runaway and do not have a kill switch it is a BIG liability not even counting the damage to your RC vehicle.
