whoever it is making it , it sure sounds good , the 3 gear coming in sounded pretty long to get there though , thers something about those 2 speeds and 3 speeds that i dont like looks like a bunch of small fragile pins and cogs that looks like it will break taking out of the box , i still run the trusty single speed setup.
2-3 speeds don't like dirt so if you run them offroad you need to seal and cover the tranny up. I have run the clutch type 2 speed in my onroad cars with very little breakage or maintance.

how is it getting replacement parts for it ?
It uses the same exact parts as the 2 speed but has a longer layshaft, clutchbell and a brace that keeps the clutchbell and layshaft at the proper spacing since theyre so long. Just about any part on it that can break, are the same as the 2 speed or can be found. I think there might be a one-way bearing in there thats not FG but its nothing custom.
I used for a few times on one of my bajas when I wanted to drag but that was about it.

Here is a couple I had..It is very heavy and it does need the bearing brace on the outside, but it works perfect for some very long speed runs.

Also, lets get something straight, OBR does not make a 2 speed, nor do they make a 3 speed, all those items are made by Black Bone (Lee), as well as this 3 speed.

Demon Rc is suppose to be working on a 2 speed for Losi but they seem to have production problems .[]

Thanks for the pics petey. I couldnt find any of my own since I dont take many pics. . The only complicated part about the 3 speed is getting those shift points right but once theyre right, theyre right. I recall running it one time in a group of FG guys and the truck shifted, after about another 100 feet, it shifted again. Everyones jaw dropped. [X(]

Well, that's quite deflating, ain't it?

Huh I have to question that my MCD with a almost stock motor ( slightly modified 27cc ) did 58 with stock gearing. My MCD with the tallest gearing offered with a highley modified engine should do 80mph according to my MCD instruction book. If all they can get out of it is 67 they have muffed up someplace with the drivetrain.

No it is not quite deflating cause it is not my MCD I would really be upset if I spent $2500.00 dollars on a engine and that was all I could get out of it!!!. These guys are missing something if that is all they can get out of it with a 50cc BZM!!! I almost got 60 mph out of my MCD with a 27cc.

He is my MCD gear ratio chart expected mph . It is based on your motor turing at 17,000 rpms. My results were close to the charts results based on the gearing I used a few mph faster. 129.55 km equals 80mph.

The gearing is almost stock and the 50cc engine revs lower so lower speed. Arthur is looking at replacing the bevel gear in the centre to up the gearing. The other idea is to replace the idle gear on the drive train to a double gear with large in and low out to increase gearing. The MCD isnt easy to gear up without some serios mods

Cheers

Replacing the gearing on the center drivetrain should increase topend speed a friend of mine did that to his rampage to increase its top speed. How many teeth does Arthur's pinion gear have on it?? I have a older MCD so my gearing maybe taller than the new ones. My gearing A-39 tooth B-24 tooth C-26 tooth and D-23 tooth. I also did my speed runs with GRP tires on my MCD.

look around- there is a company that supplies M1+M1.5 gears with your choice of bore size and set screw for a reasonable price. just sayin.

Ziggy all the BZM 50cc will turn is 16,000 rpms ?? I figured the BZM 50cc would be good for 18,000 rpms. They need some more gearing.

I see the largest pinion you can get is 49. This brings the speed up to 85mph. You will need tofit a 58 or 60t pinion to get to 100 and I dont think that would fit. best to replace the centre bevel to 1/1. This will give you a lot of gear range. But then you run into clutch problem so a 2 or 3 speed will be needed

Cheers
