Default Throttle failsafe

Any ideas on how to create a throttle failsafe for FG's?

I'm using a push rod with a spring, but I'm not sure if it'll work properly. I'm not sure if I have it setup right. Anyone with pictures?

I would like it so if you lose total power (switching off the power switch) it'll stop. And of course you still have the RX failsafe, so have two failsafes, signal and physical/loss of power failsafe.

Unless you absolutely have to make this yourself, i would recommend installing a killswitch fro Killer RC instead.

I dont trust RX failsafes one bit for a 1/5 scale....

I recomend the Killer RC "Super Bee" kill switch.

mine has saved my butt twice.
once the battery came disconected, and the 2nd time the throttle servo failed.....

here are there specs.. IMO its should be the first thing u buy for any 1/5 scalers, even before the TX batteries!!!
I fitted mine just after firing it up to see if everything was good to go & before running it in.

The Super Bee kit is the #1 must-have hopup for any 2-cycle gas RC. Works on most all gas RC cars and trucks.
•This Super Bee kit kills your 2-cycle gas engine on command, during a radio glitch, low battery, or total battery power loss
•The Super Bee is 4 kill switch versions in one. No need for multiple versions for different radios. Just flip the dip switches to change how the Super Bee functions. The Super Bee works with most 2, 3, 4+ channel AM,FM, 2.4ghz radios
•Compatible with 4 to 9v rx battery (2S LiPo compatible)
•Adjustable low battery voltage cutoff: Choose from 3, 4, 5, 6v cutoff (great for LiFe or LiPo packs)
•Adjustable glitch sensitivity
•Multi color built-in LED
•Buzzer output with multiple tones
•LED output, which can power up to 4 sets of Killer RC 6v LED headlights
•Dual engine temp sensors w/ adjustable high temp kill (optional temp sensors coming soon)
•Data Logging, (optional add-on module coming soon)
•Half the size of the Killer Bee kill switch
•Double insulated ignition coil wiring with quick disconnect, and EMI filter
•Detailed instructions included

+1 on the Killer RC. Has saved my FG from destruction a few times.

It comes with a replacement cut off switch? Is this universal? I think mine is square button. 26cc Zenoah.

Are these universal? Or do you need to match to the engine?

any UK retailers?

Seems pretty expensive £50 any place cheaper?

Read more about the killswitches [link=http://www.killerrc.com/product-category/kill-switches/gas/]here[/link]. They dont have to match the engine as they work the same way on any engine. But you have to match them with your radio so it works properly. [link=http://www.mmrlargescale.co.uk]mmmlargescale.co.uk[/link] is the UK dealer.

I hereby correct myself: you don't need to match them with your radio, that was before! I haven't visited this page in a while so i wasn't updated on this.

yeah my last radio failure cost about £100, and it got off pretty light. Front left wishbone, pipe, and pipe elbow. Could have gone head on and bent the chassis.

however I think they have too high markup. £8 for a LED on a cable?

You don't need the LED honestly. Just the standard one that is attached to the coil.

I would have to agree with that, I dont think I would be buying LED's from them.
But the superbee killswitch is responsible priced
