Default New J&A Racing T3. Any thoughts?

Hi All.

Just logged in as a new member, so greets to everyone.
Would like to know if anyone's heard of this car before? Came across the ad in a magazine here in Canada and wondered
what everyone thought. I placed an order already, so I expect delivery in the next couple of weeks I guess. Made by a company called J&A racing (Never heard of them.)
who sent me these images when I mailed them. Seems to be a nice nemesis for the FG Evo 4.

Any thoughts?

James

No-one heard anything about this?

I'd like to know what I'm letting myself in for, so if anyone knows anything I don't, please do tell.

thanks

I've heard of this car...how much did you buy it for?

I've oredered from JA once...good products but not so great communication. Took more than 2 months to delivery my purchase. It was a custom made order, but they never emailed me anything.

All in, the total cost came to nearly $6500 CDN.

I'll let you know whether I think it's worth it or not when I get it.

I have to say, I didn't have a problem with any delays, although they warned me it might take a while to make
the custom wheels I ordered with it.

Just have to wait and see I suppose.

Anyone else have any experiences with J&A?

Whoops, Sorry

Just read my post above. I meant $5500 CDN. Still lots, but not killer.

Default RE: New J&A Racing T3. RECEIVED!!

So Everythings here.

Took Long enough, but it all came in the box yesterday. I was out when UPS turned up, but they left it with my wife. She had a fit! was worrrying what I'd bought I guess!

All pre-assembled, no radio kit. Man it IS shiny. Beats the FG with regards to the build I reckon. Shame it doesn't come with Hydraulics, but I never really fancied playing around with the pipework anyways. It also makes the FG and technikit's manuals look like a kid drew them. very slick...Anyone into 3D graphics in here?

All said though, it has taken them nearly 2 months. I guess you were right 'FifthScale', but to their credit they did send an apology note before the car came.

I ran it in at the local car-park the evening I got it, and it ran great. The pipe sounds odd (Throaty), but that's probably because I'm used to the FG's standard. the front shocks seem to respond very well, and despite the disc brakes, it stops pretty quick. Terrified of scratching up all that shine though!

Now I just have to convince the wife not to make me send it back!

[X(][X(]

That seems very expensive, I just did the conversion........ $5500 Can = £2454 GBP................ I was looking for an FG Evo and the best price so far I've been given is £1400 GBP.

Is it that much more expensive to live in Canada? Surely us Brits haven't actually got something cheaper for once?

As for the car, it looks beautiful, be very very careful with all that shiny alloy!!! To stop the Wife sending it back, you could always buy a load of old FG alloy bits off ebay, bend them a bit and tell her you crashed it.......... [>:]

Hi FGUK.

I ended up ordering some extras ...

Steel Drive gear (now theres no plastic whatsoever on the car!)
A set of Alloy wheels
Spare Honda Bodyshell (Apparently they have an endless supply!)

the shipping bumped it up loads too. Plus the customs charges. From the docs I got from J&A, the car cost £1690.65 GBP. Canada's conversion rates are really bad at the best of times though. The transfer cost me nearly 100 bucks alone!

The idea about the wife is a good'n..hehe!

Where'd you get that price for an EVO? is that the comp 4, or the earlier models?

Nice one,

The price for the EVO is for the COMP 4 (the latest one) and that included a choice of cable or hydraulic brakes............ it was though a good price from a friend!

Ooh. Lucky.

Not 'Off the back of a truck' eh? hehe.

what do you make of Hydro's vs. Discs? I took the T3 out again this morning, and found the discs could raise the back end up no probs. No fiddlin' with lines, so I'm back to playing with cam presets.

Everyone here use Hydraulics?
