Newbie Hi, and cheeky question
Firstly I would just like to say hello
And secondly, I love the colour scheme on ibstars avatar and was wondering if there where some better pics of this car for me to steal ideas from
The whole painting part is not a problem as I repair cars for a living However Im not to good at creating my own ideas, hence wanting to steal some.
The only criminal part will be painting the shell on my car before it even hits the dirt (should arrive from germany early next week) I do wish they where shipped with clear shells instead of white.
Thanks in advance

RE: Newbie Hi, and cheeky question
Welcome,
Firstly, I ibstars avatar is only a photoshop and he is going to paint up his next Marder shell like that.
You can get Marder shell clear, or well i have seen them clear on [link=http://www.RC-CAR-ONLINE.DE]RC-CAR-ONLINE.DE[/link]
instread of painting it, why don't you buy some sticker/decal shels and do it that way...at least it would save weight.

RE: Newbie Hi, and cheeky question
Thanks for the reply.
If ibstart is gonna paint his next shell that colour then it would be rude for me to steal his design so Id better get my thinking cap on.
I would prefer to paint it as Ive every colour possible at my disposal so it sort of makes sence to use the perks of the trade. But custom vinyl is also not a problem as due to work I have contacts in this area as well.
My marder is coming from hobbythek (wolfgang is mega helpful!) so when I have destroyed this shell Ill get a clear one sent over. In the mean time though Ill tart this one up. Cant leave it standard or none of us will know which car we are driving

RE: Newbie Hi, and cheeky question
Im in the crash repair business so and colour you have ever seen is in my mixing room, as well as a few odds and sods of specialised stuff (rage colours for example) The vinyl again is easy as when we do any vans etc we have a guy come round to match and cut any signwriting etc..
Daz, im down in kent (medway) and still looking for the ideal bashing spot. Best one I have found so far is a closed to the public nature reserve Not my fault if its not fenced off propperly now is it. Just got to be carefull of the greater spotted newts
And I would certainly copyright that avatar Ibstar. My marder will be here any day now, hopefully tomorrow

RE: Newbie Hi, and cheeky question
MMMMmmmmmm Maybe I could combine the two, using ibstars colours and MB's design. Or even Ibstars on the front evolving into MB's to the rear.
Hold on, what am i thinking. At this rate with all this masking that would need Tony Blair would have abolished petrol before I got it finished

RE: Newbie Hi, and cheeky question
thats the trouble i have on the boats too and there 4 foot long
they are very fiddaly to mask up and if it does go wrong several hours work can go up in smoke
i was going to do the basic black paint and get the green flames cut from vinyl
as you will know spraying colours like those are a chore.
if i was you i'd defo go for the rage/chromeflair/deep flek metalics for a base
then go mad with flames etc
