HELP New o/r Beetle and electronic problems
Just picked up a new off-road Beetle. Installed a Airtronics MX-3S with a 5745 Hitec steering and 625 Hitec throttle/brake servo. Can't get the servos to stop glitching. Tried everything I could think of. Haven't even started the motor for fear of it going out of control. Doesn't matter if the electronics are in OR out of the vehicle. When the radio is turned on, things go from crazy to crazier. Using a 3300nimh 6.0v receiver pack from VS Modelsport. Any ideas?

if they are glitching out of the car you have a radio issue, check the crystals if they are properly inplace I would say you have a defective radio.

Just a stab in the dark here.....
Is everything compatible? I know when I tried to use a non digi servo with my Futaba 3PK it didn't work!
Might be worth a check?

you can not use a non digital with the futaba hrs receiver, if you had a pcm or a ppm one you could mix and match digital and anolog.
to my knowledge futaba is the only one requiring that.
it is very unlikly to be a servo issue.

Amdrew- I believe that I saw that these servos were used in the RC Driver article. I have tried unplugging either servo, unplugging the failsafe and by-passing the off-on switch directly to the battery pack and it still does it. ?????

agreed I think you have a bad radio or receiver, or possibly crystals if it is new I would exchange it.
if used I would replace crystals first.
then receiver if you can find someone near you to borrrow parts from it is the easiest way to narrow down the problem.

I have had servos before that make the rest glitch. Did you try to unplug each one while the other is plugged in to see if it stops? If you have crystals I wouls say that would be the varmit.

RE: HELP New o/r Beetle and electronic problems
I explained the situation to Airtronics and they want me to send the receiver and radio back to them. Since it didn't matter if I removed either one of the servos and the glitching increased as I moved the radio around, they want to examine both. Thanks for everyone's help here.
