If you want to be sure, drop in a Race Ported 26cc with a Samba pipe, a larger carb, and an oversize K&N filter. and the 2 speed gearbox, and the correct gearing.

Also change(Increase) the compression on the Engine so that you can get advantage of 100 octane race fuel, to give the last punch.

That should get you there, and maybe further, onroad.

Think this is aimed at me...............

I said that with standard Marder gearing and MT wheels on with the Samba it took a while to accelerate but felt like it was doing 80 mph.............

Just ignore him, he'll go away again soon!

Lets not forget good gaz. Some guys here for example use 100+ gaz with Iridium? NGK plugs. Sure that helps as well.

with 100 octane you have just effectively detuned your engine and turned it into a pipe warmer it burns way too slow for these low compression engines...
great results have been had using camp stove fuel or naptha... it has only 55 octane and more burns in the cylinder than does wioth pump gas also running up to 8 ounces of oil per gallon will help. here is a link to a tech discussion on camp stove fuel

With 100 Octane you need a Billet head engine with a higher compression, Maybe 14/1 or 16/1 is enough for 100 octane?

once you get into the billet head compression ratios then the higher octanes will apply. but im not so sure that going with a billet head is the way to go with the rc cars or boats for that matter, they look kewl. ive thought about puttin onme in a boat but id probably pull the rails out trying to start agains all that compression
