I broke the wing mount on my Beetle right off the bat and thought it was kinda wimpy when i looked at it so i ordered a Firehammer replacement sense Tower owed me a credit. The FG mount stiffeners are very thin and both of mine snapped. When i received the Firehammer part i was impressed with the beefiness of the mount bracing. The rest of the roll bar is identical with the exception of the two center pieces, they don't have the body mount bosses. I installed the wing mounts and don't think i will have a problem with them breaking anymore. While i was at it i replaced all the wood screws in the roll bar with 4mm x 30mm SHCS. The extra length will give the bar more support especially the body mount

I agree it looks thicker. BUT apart from one extra bar in the end piece the design does look somewhat familiar Perhaps they were designed by the same person?

I think you will find that the new Fg ones are thicker now, the ones on my MT are thicker than the ones on my Marder. I guess once all the thinner types are sold out only the thicker ones will be supplied in future.

If the carson one fits then id stick with it. The extra bar looks like it could help alot.

I agree dubby but if i should happen to brake it (which i doubt) i will try an FG part again.
