i just saw five FG Marder Beetle for $600.00 (on Ebay) is this a good deal or to good to be true?????? please let me know. though i am looking to buy the FG MT-5 for $1100.00 at 80% setup i could pass up on the MT-5 for the Beetle in a heartbeat..........

I seen those on ebay, it does sound way to good to be true, and the auction doesn't give any kind of info on the buggy or shipping cost or even what kind of payment he takes, I think if I was you I would walk, no make that run away as fast as you can from that deal!!

I emailed and asked about the bugs. He told me they were still factory sealed and had zenoah 260 in them and included the radio. He also told me he was overseas and would only accept western union money orders. I think the auction says he is in NY. Sounds way to fishy for me. I smell a scam.

Yeah, I was just looking at those also, I emailed him a offer of $500, lol, for fun, he replyed and the way he typed he sounded overseas, and YES it does say NY. Just for the record I offered him $500 and he said no, $650 buy it now only! I wouldnt Western Union no body that kind of money. And I also checked his feedback out, he is a 100% but a buyer not a seller, and from what you can see for what he has bought etc there is nothing R/C related, so it does seem fishey to me also!!! I just clicked on the shipping calculator, it came up to be $4.50... I think he might be selling pictures of the Beetle, lol... But then again, if it were a scam he should have taken my offer.. Who knows, your right it shows nothing about what he accepts for payments, be afraid, be very afraid!!! []

Dont pay via western union it is not traceable there are many people pulling this scam on to good to be true offers , i may be wrong in this case but if i were you i d stay well clear!!

I also emailed this guy to see what the deal is. The reply I have is almost the same as the the first one you read. He says he is in Walden NY and i am in Niagara Falls NY, I told him I was intrested in 2 of them and i want to pick them up. He said the cars are in the UK and the money should be sent to the UK, Then he states that we can deal faster this way 2 days is his claim to turn around.
THIS IS A SCAM!!!!
I am not intrested in the cars but the deal looked too good to be true. If it was on the up and up I think I would have bought one for my kid

If a deal sounds to good to be true, then it most likely is....

But maybe one of the UK members could check up on the cars? If there is one near to where the cars are supposed to be located.

Btw. The Marder Off Road RTR(6000R) is € 599 which is around US$ 790 (excluding German VAT)

i had my $4000 e-maxx listed on ebay one time and sum1 from overseas copied my pics,item discription,and title and made a duplicate auction on the uk ebay site. it showd his location was france but the item was in italy.the only way i found out about it was from guys from a uk rc forum site. { http://www.maxbashing.com/forum/ } they thot it was a scam bkuz it was at a really low price{like $800}and the 2 differnt locations didnt make sense,also bkuz they saw my truck listed here in the states and knew there couldnt be 2 eggzactly the same as my emaxx is totally custom {1 of a kind}and they informed me about the other auction. we all reported him to ebay and they cancelld his auction. maybe we should all report this guy to......b4 sum1 falls for his scheme[>:]
