Default Tires and rims for the firehammer???

Hey all, I see that we can use tires from the monster nitro trucks, like the savage or t -maxx......can the stock rims from the nitro trucks handle the extra power and torque ?

Adapters to run 1/10 hex rims on 1/5 and 1/6....$50. Like these rims.

Any other adapters available for FG or Firehamer?

those adapters are cheezy ask around and you will find many people have had allot of problems with them.
I went a different route and found that the drive tires dont stand up very long but the fronts will last a little longer. Either way both are weak as they arent designed for the power and weight of this car. ( hot bodies ufo )
I made a set of these and have had no problems since.

Are you saying that both the tires and wheels are not strong enough?

I see you are still using the tires but have made stronger wheels. Would a real firm foam liner help?
I noticed that the 40 series tires for Savage/T-Maxx truckes have a higher sidewall which would make for a less strong tire.

Am I allowed to ask the obvious question here?!

What exactly is wrong with the MT wheels and tyres from FG?

If you're now saying that the wheels off the "toy" cars, Savage/TMaxx etc aren't up to the job or don't last very long then why not just get the cash out and buy the FG wheels and tyres? Or make your own wheels if you must but make them to fit the FG MT Tyres?

I've got the Monster wheels/Tyres on mine 4 x Mediums and believe me it gets some serious abuse, the tyres still look like new even after loads of tarmac time, have admittedly cracked a rim but that's one of those things!

When I had the HotBodies rims on my Truckzilla they were crap, I dropped my truck once and bent a rim!

I have thought about that. The only thing I dont like is the tractor lug style of tires.
But your right about the amount of abuse they can stand.

I like the Proline MOAB 40 series tire with their new Cheyenne wheels. Maybe for show.

Ah what the heck, buy em both!![sm=surprised.gif]

FGUK
I AGREE ( for a change ha ha ha )
That is why I made my own rims picture above
Woulda bought em but I like to build this kind of stuff the obvious reason your FGs have stood up is cuz they are designed to be on the car.
The rims I made would likely hold up a lawn mower lol !
Anyway
The tires are not the problem or the adapters I made to put them on the problem is the strength of the rim what happens is they dont take side force well and then they start wobble or just break.
Maybe the tires with the higher side wall would benifit from some more foam ? I dunno I intend to make a set of rims for the regular jumbo size tires from a tmaxx ( smaller rim than I use now ) and see how they work.
I still use the stock Hot Bodies rims on the front of my car with adapters and the seem to stand up so far , but I am sure once I start hitting dirt instead of snow they will be done for.

Yep they fit staright on, no problems at all, nice and strong, drill 2 x 3mm holes in the back of each rim and they really improve the fun with the car.

Do you have to change your gearing when you switch to 8 inch tires? How does it run with the stock gears?

stock gears are fine just bolt on the tires and go ( you can change em if you like ) but I think it still runs great with stock ratios very fast top end and still spins em good.

I'm sure some small RC Hop-up company is going to break up the monopoly in a few weeks. Thats the word on the street at least.

$140 for a set of tires for your Honda?!!!

Just 1 of my tires for my Mach 1 cost that much. How about $960 for a set of tires.
