Default 2 Speed Gear Box FG Big Foot

Has anyone fitted the 2 speed to a Big Foot?

How does it improve performance, what is the point at which the 2nd gear cuts in, and is it reliable?

I would appreciate feed back as I am looking for more top end speed but not with the torque of an engine upgrade.

I have it installed on my Monster Beetle. It definitely gives you more top end. THe best thing about it is the sound of that MB hitting second gear and then just taking off.

Question to RC nutshobbies, have you had any problems with reliability and how much does the 2 speed add to top end speed?

Installation was not that complicated. The hardest parts was getting the thread lock off the hex nuts to get them off. When I installed it, I also installed a tuned pipe. I would say it took me less than an hour to install both. As far as increased performance. I would say my MB probably hits around 50mph now when tuned accurately. The sound of it is worthwhile. You just have to remember that there is a bearing in there and it should be kept clean and oiled like any other 2 speed.

Mikecasc,

Are you happy with the reliability and how did it improve top end performance?

No adjustment here on the 2 speed. It works like a champ on my MB -
